*~*~* Preston v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

Could we hook browne and connolly, go 3 at the back with ballard coming in, then switch watson to the left and bring roberts on the right. Fullbacks push up and let the wingers cut inside?

We’ve made a couple of changes and our whole patterns of play have disappeared, I don’t think more changes will help.

Mundle and Roberts on, Isidor through the middle.

Shake Connollys hand and spend 10 minutes apologising to Watson for playing him on the wrong side.

Another strange 45, Preston bar one shot have looked like a Sunday league team in front of goal, but they’ve had so many chances because we can’t win a second phase ball and very little in the air, we’re not keeping possession and as a result creating very little. Are we that poor against pressing teams, if so we will be found out. Let’s see what RLB does - it won’t take much of a swing to win this.
They're not really pressing though, they don't need to as our passing has been very poor. The winger experiment isn't working, neither of them are tracking runners. Leading to Preston finding pockets of space.

Not a great half. Cracking save from Moore, I think O’Nien has been superb and Rigg, Hume and Browne are doing well. Apart from that, we need to control the tempo more.
I’m also surprised he’s gone with more orthodox wingers. I’d like to see Watson on his favoured left hand side and one-on-one with their right back
Agree with all that except Browne . Thought he was way off pace and his deadball delivery rubbish .
