Nissan

EV sales are going down the pan. Sooner or later, governments will bring in road tax for them as charging 0 road tax for some 3 ton beast that does 0-60 in 3 seconds is unsustainable. To some degree a saturation point has been reached for people that can afford a decent EV and have the space to charge one overnight on these tariffs, which is the only way to make them economical.

There’s no chance you’ll get them in terraced housing or flats and office blocks don’t give a fuck as loads of people WFH after Covid. Why would anyone pay £50k for a Tesla when you can get a great used ICE car for half the price or less and not have to worry about infrastructure at home or long journeys? Same thing happened with solar panels mid 2000s, then the government pulled up the rug and the whole lot went tits up.

And their banning production of new ICE cars from 2030? Do me a favour, that’s five years away. The majority of the UK will still be driving ICE cars by 2060 at least.

Has it been reached for those paying £26k for the cheapest ICE Ford focus? That's £9k more than an end of range Nissan Leaf and £4-5k more than an electric Citroen C4

The equivalent EV C4 (same reg, mileage, condition, MOT status etc) is 5k cheaper than an ICE focus?

Yeah, you’d negotiate with the company, not an online forum, like you told someone earlier. Go to the surgeries and they might take your ideas on board.
If you actually could read, you would have seen that I intend to go to the co co surgery as I am the zone rep.

A quick search on Autotrader reveals the cheapest new are £22k and £26.5k.
£28k and “struggled” to do 160 miles on a charge (Citroen says it has a 215 mile range, but all PSA cars are complete shit anyway).

Not my words Carol, the words of top gear magazine:

Their own website it’s £468 a month (!!!!) for 48 months then a final payment of £7k to own it, which also is about £28/29k

EV range claims are similar to petrol and diesel 72 mph claims imo.
