*~*~* Luton v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

Maybe I need to see it again, on sky+ it looked onside and the lad that was offside wasn't interfering.
The lad in the middle of the goal who tried to head it and missed it was not interfering? My initial thoughts is he got a touch on it, but even if he never he was that close to touching it and patto would have definitely had to watch him, 100 percent interfered.

It’s the hardest fought for sure. I think beating Burnley and Boro more impressive as both are good sides and we did proper tactical jobs on them both.

I’d taking some convincing if anyone was to suggest that the way we got the points tonight was by design. We certainly rode our luck at times tonight and showed a real lack of composure for large parts. But when it mattered, Rigg and Mundle showed composure and quality.

Brilliant three points and it will give a great deal of confidence to them going forward
Take your point, Burnley and boro are both a much better footballing side than Luton which helps us and both were completely different wins from tonight.

Think Luton force teams to play like we did because of how they go about it themselves which I think makes this more impressive as we had to battle hard, ride our luck a bit (which every team at the top gets) but we also had the quality and composure like you said, we’d have crumbled in that game last season & season before

It’ll be as important for future games as it is for the three points.

Important that this team believe/see that they can stand up to that kind of physical pressure, soak it up and still find a way to win.

There’ll be more grinding games like this through the winter months. Especially away from home. Hopefully they can draw on the performance tonight when they need to.
Exactly ^

Especially on their glorified 5 a side court, get them up here on an expansive pitch, see what they are like then.
