Really minor annoyances

You know that noise people make

Like - chssh chssh chssh (really quickly)

When they're thinking or doing something so filling a gap in conversation.

Noticed someone in the office doing it loads and now I can't unhear it

Someone did it in a shop yesterday too. It's very common. More common than you'd realise unless you're hyper aware of it like I am now

People who talk constantly in the office, giving a running commentary of what they are doing. "Who is this email from? What do they want? Oh really, do I even want to do that? Where did I save this document. Oh look what that prat has done". Just shut up and let me get on with my job. I've worked with a couple like that. Drives you up the wall.

Or this morning I was reminded of hotels that think it is good hospitality to keep the place above 30 degrees. I had to stop in one last night and felt like I could hardly breath. Window straight open, radiator turned off, but even then the heat from the rest of the building had my room over 25 degrees when I woke up (far too early) this morning.

I once stopped at a posh country mini-castle wedding venue place, middle of July for a friends wedding. It was a really hot summer evening but they had heating on. You would walk down a corridor and passing a radiator was like walking past a furnace. It must cost an absolute fortune. Surely it makes more sense to keep the place 20-21 degrees with a heater in each room for those who want to live like a lizard.

Yes I'm a mental health volunteer and I've listened to countless people on here and signposted where needed.

There are knobs on here though. Recently I was annoyed with some of the responses on a thread where a new board member was concerned about taking his little boy safely to the toilet at the match, which caused him to delete his account as he thought this place wasn't welcoming.
Have to agree.
If you mean the 'smoking' thread, I found it bizarre and uncalled for that people were belittling the person's concerns.
Not a joking matter , a child (especially) subjected to health threating toxins in such a small, enclosed area - especially given that it's against the law , and everyone knows why.

Have to say though (and I've mentioned this before), there are a lot of caring people on this board that do give out a lot of good, decent advice to folk in need.
Part of the reason why I come on here

I'm listening to an album. Thought I'd check out the lyric whilst listening.

One line is presented as : "I know you're tryna leave it all behind"

It's obviously 'trying to'. There's absolutely no need to render the particular phrase phonetically. It isn't pronounced obviously as such by the singer.

It annoyed me.

Encountered similar with something I need to learn. Sheet music can be wrong as well, even to my relatively untrained eyes. If you're going to half-arse something, why bother?

Two minor annoyances.

  1. Buskers with annoyingly and unnecessary amplification. If you’re going to sing or strum on a street corner, why is it necessary for me to hear it 4 streets away?
  2. Finding out, when I log in to post about my annoyance regarding buskers that somebody has started a new minor annoyances thread.

Heard one on Sunday who sang in the club style but with added large gaps between each word. His music playing was decent.

As the only opportunity to drop any money into a hat is when you are actually standing RIGHT NEXT TO THEM, why is amplification needed AT ALL!? (Is my point).

Regardless of how good or bad they are.

The people working in the shops near or adjacent to where they are banging out the classics all freaking day must be driven mad.

I don't think I've ever noticed anyone doing that. Probably going to hear it everywhere now, and realise that they were always going it, I just didn't notice it.

Very much this. There's been a real trend in Sunderland in the past few years to have people standing in or around Market Square, and their 'busking' is just playing a recording of music and then standing singing through a mic and amp really loudly and usually really badly in that whiny emotive trying out for an audition on a reality music show kind of way. Must drive the people in the shops around there crazy.

People who let their shit machines off leads and the dog runs upto me and either rubs its slavvery jowls on my black jeans so it looks like Ive jizzed everywhere.. or the dog puts its muddy paws on the same jeans. Owner usually doesn't give a shit

The newest save a document screen in Microsoft office. Don't pick the directory path you want to save in, no, just click ok and we will decide to put it "somewhere". Good luck trying to find it again.

So you click the 'more options' button, which gives you a few more random places you might want to put your document. Nope still not right, browse and finally you can actually pick where you want to store it.

I imagine there are now loads of people with 1000 documents in their Documents folder without any form or organisation and half the stuff is lost forever.

There’s a Browse button at the bottom left which takes you to the older and more familiar directory navigation page.
Shame that can’t be set as default.

Spotify:

When you go to an album and click to add to new playlist, now the name defaults to the album title rather than the artist and the album title.

I’m sure there is a better way, but I like playlists
