Jack Clarke

I can entirely see why Clarke decided he had to go now. Last season dismayed most fans and if you are Jack Clarke and you have experienced the relegation form and absolute lack of direction and ambition from the people running the Club it won't have given him confidence that his Premier League ambitions can be achieved with us. The decision will have been made ages ago.

There are puzzles, why only Ipswich appear to have really wanted him and why we sold at that fee rather than keep him for another year.

Clarke is gambling on Ipswich staying up or that he can show his ability at that level so if they do go down he is attractive to other PL teams.

Money is also an issue, there is no getting away from that.

I hope he does well because he has been a pleasure to watch in red and white and I think he is goid enough.

Speakman always controls the narrative about departures and likes to do the "we did all we could but the player...". Very different circumstances but he did it with Pritchard when a bew contract was only offered at the last minute. Players who leave won't waste their energy in a pointless debate with Speakman.

So far we are foing well without Jack Clarke, let us hope that continues.
Spot on.
We were a shitshow last season. Caused solely by Speakman and the owners decisions. I’m amazed there wasn’t a queue of young players agents demanding a move for their clients.

So skipps career is on a downward trajectory and Clarkes on an upward?
dont know about that..skipp is currently at a premier league club...so is clarke..
Skipp has already started for his new premier league club...clarke has yet to..
Skipp is at the bigger club with a better recent history..

4 games in and we're getting promoted and Jack Clarkes career is finished.
Think a bit of it is relief that we can still compete without our takismsn
We look organized -he’s gone and we move in with those we have
Did some one not say -at Spurs -Mundle was better thought of than Clarke so there is hope ( or am I just being positive and making that up ?)

well its certainly the case that mundle rejected a four year contract at tottenham and left..indicating they rated him a bit...
they were loaning clarke out at the same time..

The good news is we are now 4 from 4 with one goal conceded and playing some excellent football which is of course solely “down to Speakman and the owners decisions”.

We were good for eachvither and the time was right for both parties. I wish him every success but am solely interested in those who are here now. Early days but things look very promising and we have some excellent footballers for Championship level.

Both parties? I don't really see that there is a right time to lose your main scorer and top performer. Two of the four games we have played involved Clarke who scored in one so he was continuing his importance to the team. Mundle has done brilliantly and I hope he continues. It is about who is here now and the signs are good so I hope we can mount a serious promotion challenge.

Or you could consider that lessons have been learnt and the current regime is working hard to build something that will last and wish Jack Clarke all the very best after his well deserved move to the Premier League. Wallowing in negativity about the past is rather pathetic.

The past few months Clarke was a distraction at least. Certainly a good player but we've moved on quickly and him going has maybe even improved team harmony.
Not his fault at all, just one of those things that happen that indeed worked out well for both parties.

*apart from Ipswich getting relegated next season and us passing them on the escalator 😎

As stated above, we were very dependent on him and needed to strengthen elsewhere. The money has helped with that. We could have kept him longer but would have got less money in the future. Other players need to take responsibility now, which will aid their development. As well as Mundle, we also have Isidor and Watson. I think the latter could go on to be a fantastic player. He has the talent and is getting stronger and more consistent.

Players' experience of the club is the facilities, training sessions and match day.... Not pouring over thousands of disgruntled posts on a fans message board like the rest of us

I feel bad for the lad. Surely he's picked Ipswich because he's thought it's a team he's be playing the majority of the minutes for and putting himself in the shop window for a team in the PL next season but more than likely he's going to go down and need either go back up with them or prove himself in the championship again for a PL to buy him

4 wins in row keeps the keyboards at bay….

He'll get his chance. Clarke's a cracking player to bring on later in a game mind. Would have thought he'd be starting though.
Needs to get ahead of Delap & Szmodics?

Why. he went for the money, and Harte a big pay day

I don't feel the need to wish anything negative to someone who honestly did their best for us and added value to the club then going to a higher level. It rarely happens.
