Milan Aleksic - Confirmed

Doesn't really look like a kid. From the clips, doesn't really play like one either. Big jump in competition still. Looking forward to seeing him in u21s - as I think he'll probably be in that 10 role that they tried to play Watson first half yesterday.
Hope to see him make some cameos off the bench for the first team in the second half of the season. IF we were to get promoted, could see him getting loaned next season for game time.
We don’t really play a number 10 anymore. It’s more like 2 number 8s that also drift out wide to help the wingers. Looking at him he will play in the Bellingham, Rigg or Browne role. As others said, we won’t be letting him sit in the u21s.

Oh, I know the first team has pivoting 8s (which would suit Aleksic even better), but the u21s played the last match against Liverpool with a 10. 4-2-3-1 I think first half with Watson as 10 behind Trey O as the 9.

And no, I don't think he'll sit in u21s either. He'll make the team often (depending on Adil and Ba's situations). I mean we paid a lot for him - he'll play as soon as he is ready, but won't get a lot of minutes until next season I think. He could be ready to go day 1 like Wilson, but probably not. Just an 18 year old from Serbia, probably the first time he'll be leaving his parents house.

Think he'll be eased in slowly myself, it's basically the strongest part of our squad. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes less than 5 starts this season.

We've got some brutal fixture scheduling coming up.

28 Sep Watford A
1 Oct Derby H
4 Oct Leeds H

That's Saturday - Tuesday - Friday

Then

20 Oct Hull A
23 Oct Luton A
26 Oct Oxford H

Sunday - Wednesday - Saturday

Similar schedule in November. That could lead to all sorts of wear and tear on the squad and a few opportunities for him to play

He'll get plenty of chances anyway, as we'll have to manage the minutes of Rigg and Jobe. Absolutely have to be more mindful of not working them to the bone like we did with Jobe last season.

Heeeees aleksic
He’s in a team chokka full of eccentrics
He’ll do things you never expected
Makes your team look shite!

Cause I’ll be you and you’ll be me
There’s lots and lots for us to see
There’s lots and lots for us to do
He is aleksic can I be aleksic tooooo

Be kind, that’s my first attempt 🙈

Imagine cirkin trying navigate that

Do you think Jobe has got a guarantee of minutes in his contract as rumoured with Jude at Dortmund?
Not a guarantee of minutes as such but I do think he's got one that says he can go for cheap if he doesn't play a set number, as that's how we got him so cheap from Brum in the first place. So why would it be any different with us?

None whatsoever but very little difference.

Hopefully with the new depth we will be subbing a bit earlier and more often that we have been. Also nowadays they can track everything in terms of their performance and fitness. I imagine if they are beginning to wear down it'll show up in the data and they will rotate. Part of the issue is with all of the international breaks, our midfield (sans Neil) won't get that time to recover like others.

Cirkin needs to learn how to protect himself. Seems like a few of his injuries have been a result of playing like he is invincible. Part of why some players ( Clarke, Jobe, Rigg, Roberts - though he was injured some last year) don't get injured often is because they are able to assess whether or not they are going to get there first and if they need to pull out of it. Cirkin just crashes though everything bombing down the wing. Luke plays with the same sort of reckless abandon, but Luke is also maniac who would rather die than pull out of a challenge

It's why I think we left ourselves short of a versatlle full back. We can't say when Huggins will be back and Alese is out this month. O'Nien is probably gonna get some minutes as a full-back.
As much as people don't like pembele he shouldn't have left if nobody was coming in just like I'd keep either Adil ba or jewi we need some depth
