Chris Rigg

I remember when he came on on the right wing against Manchester United and absolutely tied Patrice Evra in knots. I thought he was going to be am absolutely fantastic right midfielder watching him that day. I was wrong.
I saw his first game, Coventry perhaps and thought meh!

Then a bit later when he was playing centre midfield I saw he had time, great touch and great passing.

So now Rigg is worth 80million 😂😂😂.

Jude Bellingham went to Madrid for 88m, and Chris Rigg is worth just 8m less yeah?
Moses Caicedo went for £115M, Grealish £100M, are they better than Bellingham?

Rubbish. He's on a 3 year deal until 2027.

They'll be interest in January if he's still in the team and picking up MotM on a regular basis. Obviously from our point of view we need a bidding war.

Why do you think the mags paid £15M for Shearer? Because Blackburn didn't need to sell and 2 of the biggest spending clubs in the country were both after him. Them and Man Utd.
2 year come the end of this season and if he’s showing signs of not renewing we’ll sell. Same as we did with Clarke.

If you think we get 80 million for him at any point then you are going to be absolutely devastated.

No team will ever pay 80 million for a championship player.

He’s a tremendous prospect like, the best I’ve seen in a Sunderland shirt but some of the valuations and comparisons on this thread are completely bonkers

Both established premier league players when the market was at its absolute peak.

No player has ever gone from the championship for anywhere near 80 million pounds.

In one breath you seriously believe you’re not overplaying Rigg in the next you’re suggesting he’s worth 80 million pounds, 80 million.

It depends on the level of interest in him.

If Man City, Man Utd and or Liverpool etc. see him as a future super star the price will just go up and up.

Only one club was in for Clarke, hence the lowish price.

Potentially. Not now.

He's the best youngster I've seen at this club since Bridges or at least at this level he is. Bridges was stuck behind Phillips though and was far far better than Alan Smith when he went to Leeds before his injuries. Bridges would've been a top striker for England had it not been for those. Rigg certainly looks to have similar talent, hopefully he can continue to grow as a player

The shit Callum Doyle?
He is a bit, especially for a City player.

I watched his chronic ball watching for the first goal of 6 down Bolton today funnily enough. He did the same thing a few times. No foot movement at all allowing the ball to sail over him dropping the team in the shit. Absolute basics.
That one, got off to a decent start here and some on here were tipping him for 100+ caps for England.
He's a decent footballer. He's just a poor defender which is his primary role.

Archie Gray just went for 40m aged 18. Rigg is as good as he was at 17. If Rigg performs consistent this season he'll be worth the same or more next summer.

The more I think about it, the more he reminds me of Edgar Davids.
From the minute I seen Rigg I thought Phil Foden, the way he carries himself, the upright head up running style he's just like a young Foden and if he keeps progressing he could be challenging for the old Foden's England place ....

I see that in his physique as a 15-16 yo, but his playing style is totally different and he is becoming a much bigger and stronger player than foden, who I think is only 5'7.

Think PSR has changed the landscape.
