Tom Cannon bid in - now signed for Sheff U.

If we sign the two midfielders and a proper striker tomorrow then I’ll be satisfied. Add another forward/left back to that and we are cooking.

I’ll be gutted. I won’t defend the indefensible.
Permanent striker?
Loan?
Kid from the prem nobody has heard of?

What if we do t sign a striker?

To be fair, we did get Ballard, Jobe, and Rigg to sign contracts this summer. Certainly significant wage increases were part of this. Last summer was Hume, Cirkin, and Patto. This next summer should be Cirkin, Neil, and Roberts (with Roberts needing to have a good year to get offered a new one).
Can’t argue with that but if we want to get promoted we need to improve the team/squad. 24 hours to go we’ve lost our best player for decent enough money let’s show some ambition and use some of it.

A proper striker. Not a child and someone who has a track record of scoring goals. If we don’t sign one I’ll be gutted as I said. And it’ll be the end of Speakman for most fans I would imagine.
The owner gets off scot free on here like.

End of speakman, yet he's had his best player sold and given a fraction of the money to reinvest and won't pay the going rate in wages for a 'proper striker'

Was just thinking that. Nothing confirmed on either of the midfielders is there?

Similar kind of links to Simic. Foreign press, “medical”, “agreed” etc then next couple of days go quiet. Hopefully they happen but it’s not gospel from what I can tell.
Tbf, RLB pretty much said today that both deals were close

You are probably spot on but fail to see the issue. The players we've been linked to would improve us. If these are links are true and they broken down due to penny pinching then that's worrying.

There's also every chance the 'striker out of nowhere' that we've not been linked to could be completely shite.

I think the main concern is that any slightly ambitious signing seems to fall apart and then right at the last minute we bring in Marcus Bent.

They have a pretty good track record compared to most teams in unearthing talent. I don’t see why striker should be different.

Last year was a shambles. I can see why they signed Hemir, but the lad hasn’t settled and I’m not sure is going anywhere in English football. They don’t all work out. Mayenda always looked a player to me. He will come good. Rusyn was an atrocious signing. Don’t understand it at all. Don’t actually mind the lad, but never fit our pattern of play at all. Might be better covering Mundle now in a RLB system, let’s see. But the real stinker was Burstow. He was supposed to be the number one and buy us time.

We’re in a better place this year. We have a coach with a plan, Mayenda now looks a promising option and we’ve signed Isidor who has decent pedigree. We need one more. The “one out of nowhere” could be shite aye. But never in a million years will he be worse than Burstow. I just can’t see how that would be possible.

Yeah I agree with that. Sure it would make Speakman’s job easier if KLD gave him more to work with.
