Jack Clarke

His thinking was maybe that he will get game time at Ipswich and would probably not get a look in at the “bigger” more established clubs
Also that none of them had bids accepted?
Looked very average in a role that didn’t look natural. Played narrow. As much as I love him and he was amazing for us, he’s gonna struggle in the prem, especially at Ipswich. Still can’t believe he never left for a team more established.
I hadn’t quite realised/remembered they rely on Davis holding width on the left but I think it’s manageable.

When they’re in settled possession, Davis will hold width and Clarke be expected to come in. But they play on the counter a lot - I’m picturing a lot of their goals this season looking their one v Man City - that Clarke will get the space out wide to play how he likes.

In transition, Davis wont be the left winger, just in settled play.

I genuinely don’t understand people who don’t wish him well. Even in the 2 games he played this season he gave his absolute all. No agitating for a move on the field as we’ve seen a lot of. If you didn’t know there was a chance he was away you’d certainly not have guessed from his performances. He developed here and got a move to the prem, we got 3 good years and a tidy profit. Everyone is better off, unfortunately including his agent.
If the Clarke fee ends up £20m including add ons that is pretty much two seasons of gate money (£10.6m quoted in accounts). No wonder KLD pays little attention to the fanbase.

Or maybe did not bid at all, which is more likely.
Whatever the circumstances, I think he’s better off getting a game at Ipswich than being in the background at the bigger Prem teams.
If he doesn’t get a game at Ipswich, well he will have earned a lot of money and can regroup the following season. It’s his chance and he’s taking it.

That’s quite a lot more than I’d thought. £10m per year is really noticeable income compared to player sales

Totally agree. I just mean he didn’t really have any other PL options. Good for him for taking it, I think Ipswich will suit him

Played well when he got wide, as we know he would. But McKenna has got him playing some sort of inside winger role that doesn't suit him. We all know his best strength is either picking the ball up wide and driving in or carrying the ball forward and getting the team up the pitch.

Ipswich seem too keen on accomodating Leif Davis and his overlapping runs than getting the best out of Clarke
Against much weaker opposition when they had 80% possession

In the PL they won’t get 80% and will be countering a lot, it will suit Clarke loads more

What is our annual wage bill as well? Be interesting how that compares to the annual gate money.

well his agent got paid thats whats most important, at least to agents. if it doesnt work out for him there it will be another pay day for the agent as well

player could have had his say but chose not to...

hes gone, we have to move on

Two seasons gate money = money spent on a dozen or so games fir the on-loan Alverez.
Two seasons gate money = money Spurs generate from their 'pie and bovril' sales at a dozen or so games.

I think he may have made a mistake...... Yes, he played last night, but Ipswich didn't play to his style or strengths. Hope I'm wrong but its may be another hard season for Jack.
It's a long grind for EPL new boys . Possibly ten home games and six away games where they might be competitive interspersed with plenty of 3+ goal nackings.

All the potential excitement of a successful Championship season ahead just to aspire to this, and spend potentially £100m when we get there just to try and compete...the joy!

That’s not what you said though. Have a look at season ticket prices across the championship… it’s not true

People are getting season tickets virtually free (£400 a season is pennies compared to other clubs).
I'm just waiting for you to provide me the data/relative link so I can give you my response to your question.

We're talking about an adult seat with a decent view to be comparative. None of the family corner concessions etc.

The cheapest adult ticket for us is £410 I think. That includes corners and concession areas.

You're looking at 560+ for the decent view areas.
