Tom Cannon bid in - now signed for Sheff U.

I think most of those other clubs don't actually need him - Norwich and Sheff Utd have both bought strikers already, and Stoke are interested in someone else fron what I've read.
Saw Luton linked on a thread from Reddit earlier. That's where it was mentioned in some Leicestershire press that they were looking for around 7m for him.

It’ll be more than £5m for Cannon. They’ll want the £7m they spent back at least.

Irish press reporting that Sheff Utd are seen as favourites. Luton are just about to lose a striker to Ipswich and are also said to be keen. Could be a bidding war.

Ipswich… I’m starting to dislike Ipswich 😂

Sheffield Utd have parachute payments and will no doubt pay more in wages. Luton likewise.

The thing about our current ownership is that where strikers are concerned I think the fanbase default position now is we won’t be spending any money signing strikers,so if we do manage to land Mendy, Simic or Cannon it will be a really pleasant surprise!

In:
Mendy more likely giving the finances. We definitely need another option up front though. I reckon it'll be Mendy deadline day, maybe a French midfielder and an attacking loan player
Out:
Pembele
Anderson
Ekwah
Aouchiche
Hemir
3 in, 5 out I reckon

Agree about parachute payments. That is why we will stick to signing players from foreign teams imo.

They want closer to £7mil
We thought we would get 25 to 30 million for clarke
People look at things like this far too simplistically and don't care about the context.

2 in 13 is one way... the other way is he only played 423 minutes in the championship last season and managed 2 goals and 1 assist.

So 2 goals and 1 assist in the equivalent of 4.5 games basically.
And coming back from months off injured

It's all about convincing him that this is the place to be, he hasn't made great choices up to now Leicester was certainly a bad move and he hasn't played enough football in 2 years.

If an extra grand here or there convinces him that Luton or Sheff Utd is the place to be then so be it, he's going to miss out on a great opportunity.

Not sure like, they need the money and he’s not set the world alight there so may see as getting a large percentage back as good business seeing they need to bring some cash in for the books.

I don't think so. No-one is paying 7 million for a player that's had one decent season as a loanee, had a chronic back injury since and his last two managers haven't been interested in giving him a game. Also they need money in and wages out.

It’s whether we can “move “ some of those ?but that’s x pretty fair with Ekwah being the one that divides fans seemingly

Never ever worth £7m. Injury prone, hardly had a look in the last two seasons.Simmic is the one we should be going all out for.
I’m sorry but there is no way you had heard of Šimić until last week.

How is he injury prone? He had a stress fracture in his back. That’s the only injury which has kept him out for a sustained period.
