And what have you seen from his 3 brief substitute appearances as a teenager in the Premier League that makes you so certain? You mentioned his name in your post alongside that of Jamie Vardy. A footballer who didn’t play an EFL game until he was 25 or a Premier League game until he was 27, but who has to date scored 136 Premier League goals. Fortunately he didn’t have people like you in his ear when he was 21 telling him that he wasn’t good enough to step up to PL level.

Hard to say as he's been given very little chances and been treated pretty poorly IMO.

Very good shot, deceptively quick - has only played for us under Maresca's style last season. Cooper barely acknowledges that he exists.

Preston fans would give a better lowdown I think.

Pedigree for me. Coming from a couple of decent years at that Red Bull side as opposed to Preston and Leicester under 21’s.

Seems a nice bloke but he was purely the cheap, easy option devoid of any plan and hell bent on signing old shite ala Ayew and Bobby Decordova Reid. He also seems to have no tactical idea whatsoever.

Graham Potter had agreed to take over on the proviso he could bring in his own Director of Football which of course we refused as our owner seems deadly in love with the absolutely useless leech that is John Rudkin.

Don't get me wrong I don't think Potter is all that but he would have made a lot more sense working with the players we have and the style that had been embedded over the last few years.

I can believe we’re in for him, and we were last season. He’d suit us brilliantly and we have 3 aces over other clubs :
1) Alan Browne is likely to have been an influence from his successful Preston loan,
2) He will now be aware of the rep we have for developing/resurrecting young player’s career direction
3) he’ll know there is a pretty decent prospect of being the main man re game time.

I don’t think there’s an issue about the money. I think I’d rather see him here than Mendy or Simic. But who knows?

I’d prefer Simic personally.
Injuries have blighted him.

He did in a few games last season but was accused of being incredibly lazy during some of his rare pre-season minutes.

Probably unfairly as it was more likely lack of fitness or unsettled due to playing anyone but him in the striker position.

I went to the Lens away friendly where he was the only striker option on the bench. Daka got badly injured but instead of bringing Cannon on he stuck Mavididi up front. Cooper eventually brought him on for the last 10 or so minutes.

When questioned on this by the local radio station he said he left him on the bench to spread the minutes around the team which was absolute horseshit.
