Jack Clarke

I’m 60 year old mate and getting screwed over by this football club gets no easier I can assure you ! This is after I stood in a Q for an hour as my ST did not scan last week, A ST I have had since 1992
You have my sympathies marra, I too am a retired SC holder, had a season ticket at Roker Park, only way I can better you is that my digital card worked fine last week , chin up marra at our time in life we should know better.
Ha’way the Lads

But he has improved the playing side. And if the rumours of incomings are true, then we have invested in improving the playing squad.

I'm not sure where this myth that we aren't free spending has come from. We spent loads last season on transfers. I'm sure we had one of the highest net-spends in the league.
We didn't, but we did spend a little more than we brought in, and we did immediately reinvest the Stewart money despite what some will say.

Issue we have is that we've bought, but since being promoted, haven't really improved the team in any of the following windows.

last season's transfers bar Bellingham were a mixed bag (mostly shit tbh, or not what we need). The season before that they were pretty much all great. The recruitment team deserve one more crack at it for me.

I cannot understand 40 million for Rutter and what amounts to 11.5 million for Clarke, after 2 games I thought actually we would have a run at top 6, that optimism has dissolved this morning.

Would we have sold ourselves to the mags a few year ago?

Was that acceptable to you?
 Where is your real gripe then - is it really transfer money or do you just want to ignore everything else and bang on about a bar decoration for the rest of his time here? You changed the subject within two posts.

I’d put Watson in mate. Tell him he has a proper run in the side and it’s his place to make his own.

Back to not having enough experience and consistency on the pitch.

Truth is we have failed to get promoted with the two best players of the last 7 years in LND and Clarke.
We never will if we keep selling them and replacing them with kids, players who are not established
Bizarrely I don’t believe Clarke even wants to leave.

Can’t tell me JC wouldn’t be worth minimum £15m in January if he continued performing how he has been. Surely reassess then & give us a fighting chance of getting into the top 6.
Trying to imagine the meltdown on here if we were 5th and sold him in January…………..

Easy thing for the club to get out in to the media.

Do you think he really wanted to leave?
He'll have probably wanted PL football like most other footballers, not trying to say he's agitated for the move or anything, just that when the interest has come up I don't see why he would turn it down
