Jack Clarke

To me it makes no sense taking a low offer like that, with still a week to go, unless :-

1) they need the money now to ensure they get their current targets over the line i.e. Simic, Isodor, Mendy etc

2) they know he's definitely going so don't want to leave it to the last day and have little time to replace him as they don't see the above players as his replacements.

The third scenario is they've accepted in the hope Brentford or someone comes in to match it and it starts a bidding war.
As soon as we had strikers having medicals it was obvious they were accepting a bid

Ah right so he’s had to sell our best player to fund a couple and he apparently had to borrow money over the summer to fix a few issues at the ground.

Is this owner ever going to put a penny of his own money into the club?

Exactly, hence the reason for wanting to be in the PL. Other players at the club were happy to sign extensions with pay rises, unfortunately whatever was offered to Clarke either officially or verbally wasn’t enough.
I mentioned earlier in thread he was happy to sign an extension if the rise was deemed acceptable. He’s on 15k a week currently and wanted 25k. The club initially offered 17k which was immediately turned down. No other offer was made. The stumbling point with Ipswich yesterday was Speakman trying to get more upfront. He’ll be on 40k at Ipswich.

Players come players go, thanks for your hard work Jack and good luck.
It's what we do NOW that is important, replace him with better... we already have Poveda who will prove to be good, Mundle again will be good... but another body is needed! Mitoma at Brighton might struggle for minutes and they've spent alot of money, maybe we can tempt them with a big loan fee? I believe getting a top player for just one season isn't a bad idea if it gets us promoted... give them £10million loan fee for this season, helps their PSR, he stays their player and it gets us promotion and therefore pays for itself... rather that than buy half the player for half the money and not even half the outcome.

I think the club were banking on some fees coming in elsewhere, with 1 week left they've realised nout is coming in and they've shit themselves and snatched at 15m.

If we only get 10-12m of this after Spurs take their bit... how much is needed to just balance the books if they can see we are on for another loss this year... I can see less than half being reinvested.

What's worse is that with 1yr experience in the PL, he only needs to come up with about 10 goal contributions this season for his asking price at Ipswich to be in the 30m mark.

I was under the impression when they first came in the model was more ‘speculate to accumulate’ than ‘sell to buy’, turns out I was wrong.

The owner doesn’t want to spend another penny of his own money. We’ll go absolutely nowhere under his ownership.
Agree entirely. The model has never been about improving the level of player we buy, if that was the case we'd be adding to our transfer budgets with sales.

Unfortunately the sole purpose seems to be sell a player so owners don't have to fund a transfer.

Yep I imagine it’ll be Neil and Ballard next season

Jobe the season after

Probably Rigg the one after

😭😭😭

That is an absolute disgrace. Disgusting.

Some people really do need to wake up to what these mag-loving cretins running our club, are really up to. They have no intention whatsoever of getting this club back to the premier league, as long as they can gather, farm and cash in assets in the meantime.

Jack Clarke worth less than half as much as Rutter? Aye, right, Speako.

Absolute charlatans.

I’m not sure it works like that, once the club accepts the offer then it’s done. Another club can come in for him, offer him better terms & he could choose them but the fee wouldn’t change by much I don’t think.

There’s absolutely no chance of signing Mitoma  He literally has a premier league goal to his name already, this season.

Definitely this. No ambition whatsoever. No chance we'll go up with these jokers.

Looking from the clubs position, what do they do? Risk his value plummeting with a potentially unhappy player. They preach being sustainable and this is the evidence of that. I’m not defending what they have done, only seeing it from their point of view.

What do they do? Simple, don't accept the first shitty offer they receive. Players like clarke are going for £25m regularly.

Ipswich will be laughing Thier heads off at us man. They know he's worth more than that. It's called negotiation. Something we have failed to even attempt.

The people in charge at our club aren't fit to run a f***ing bath

Zero goal threat this weekend d against Burnley then
We couldn’t have been playing a worse team for the timing of this like.

People are now pissed off with the Clarke situation and Burnley if we’re being honest are more than likely going to pump us.
