Most people expected him to leave when we lost in the playoffs. We kept him for another year. We aren't a one man team, we've lost our best players since i was born. The club is still here and we move on.

Just said on the other thread that they have been desperate to sell and he will have wanted to go.Clearly the plan all along not a single penny spent all summer then sell our best player under market value and now we might actually pay fees.
Zero ambition from our pound shop owner but we are sustaining our championship existence so there’s that to be thankful for utter joke.
But sell him at he’s market value not £10 million less we might never get any money off the add ons. We new we had no money to spendJust said on the other thread that they have been desperate to sell and he will have wanted to go.
They haven't signed any strikers until he goes because we needed the money. He hasn't been on 1 picture of the 3 new kits.
They've accepted this as times running out and it's the only bid.
Leaves a really bad taste in the mouth this. For 15 million of which Spurs will get 3 - our season has been totally derailed.Never forget that Ipswich got promoted from league one, leap frogged us into the premier league and have now poached our best player. Farcical.
Sorry that doesn't make sense. If someone wants out you still try to get what they're worth .2 hours ago you were saying Harte was the main culprit, now you're blaming the club.
Obvious as daylight Harte has verbally agreed a pay package with Ipswich with a more significant agent fee package, told Jack about it and he's gone to the club and put a transfer request in. At that point you don't want to keep a player in the dressing room who doesn't want to be there hence the less than expected fee.
I hate sensible posts , have a likeNever understood why fans care about football finances. Not my money, and I don’t believe it will all be invested back in the team.
Good luck to a lad who genuinely made me happy watching him. Hope he gets paid for a fortune, rips up the PL and deservedly earns an England call up.
Not many Sunderland players in my lifetime can deservedly be called talismanic, but Clarke very much was that.
Unsurprised, but of course sorely disappointed to see him go.
Mind we done the same to Southampton regarding LND maybe a bit of karmabeen made mugs of again. Doesn’t matter if he wants to go, you don’t sell you biggest asset who was also one of the best players in the league statistically for half his value.
The higher ups have no idea what they are doing and we’ve had our pants pulled down.
Good luck to jack, he’ll be on 10x the wage he was here and will do well in the prem
Not so much this but the Paltry sum we’re giving him away for upsetting most fansGood luck to the lad. He’s been a joy to watch at times and frustrating as hell to watch at times, too. We move on.
Seems like I was wrong and my faith in them playing hardball over the fee was misplaced!I have no problem with him leaving on two conditions:
1. We play hardball with the fee and don’t accept anything less than £25-£30 million.
2. We sign a quality, first-team ready replacement before next Friday’s deadline and use the majority of the remaining fee to improve key positions.
The first condition I have no doubt we will do given the club’s record. The second, I’m not so sure!![]()
