I think it must be the case than no one is in for these three, and they can’t fund deals themselves without selling someone, and Clarke got an offer that was the only show in town

It's probably going to pay off fees of players we've brought in already knowing this lot
 
He'll have one season in the Premier League, in a dismal relegation battle which they'll lose. Hardly a step up for him, so you have to wonder who's benefiting here.
 
I’m probably in the minority here but sentiment aside, I think 20m is probably the right fee. We could have a really good sell on clause included and bank x amount more millions if he has a good season in the prem and moves on further for a big fee.
 
The clubs promotion of the new shirts told you all you needed to know. Clarke was knower to be seen.
Unfortunately we had our hopes up thinking he was signing a new contract and I don’t doubt the info from the posters was genuine. Something obviously changed drastically. Also people called it today with the sudden movement of transfer business on our end meant it looked likely Clarke was going as we were coming into some money.
