Jack Clarke

We all know players improve, the problem we have with that is the options you've stated are rusyn (who is about 26) and now looks even worse than when he signed.

Ba who I think gets over the top criticism but he certainly isn't going to deliver consistent performers.

Mundle looks most likely to get the spot and even he's very hot and cold. Like Clarke I don't think it'll click for him just yet.

Alot of the discontent we have is fans wanting a promotion challenge every year and the club being far more relaxed about it. We could lose some big players in the next season or two without a promotion.
without Jack Clarke last season we’d of been relegated. Mundle is a million miles away from being able to replace Jack Clarke. If we are selling we need to buy a replacement asap

The market is what we, as selling club, decide we will accept.
20 million with a chunk to Spurs -for a lad that wins games gets you out of your seat and is part of a progressive young team in this day and age is peanuts
Did the Leeds lad not go for 25 and the other one 40 ?
Good chance Ipswich will naturally be under the cosh a lot this season so he may end up doubling up at left back rather than marauding forward .

Yeah I get the logic in selling to reinvest to improve the team as a whole..I do worry at the fees quoted and a chunky sell on fee for spurs that we won't have a huge sum of money to spend. But then we don't want to lose him for nothing in two years.

Could be interesting few days ahead.
I think we'll get the right price unless the boy himself is desperate for away. i dont think he will be for Ipswich but he might want a wage rise out of us for an extra year .

And ? How many games did he play ? Does that mean every player who plays in a premier league team and who finishes 6th or 7th are worth 40 million ?
No but you brought Jonathan Stead into the argument. Forest agreed to pay £28m for Anderson.
That'll have zero impact on his much Clarke goes for, if he goes.

It’s 20m and it’s been rejected.

Rutter not as good a player as Clarke, scored 5 goals last season was sold to Brighton for £40m!! So what do you think our owner should accept for Clarke? If it was £25m that by inference would mean Rutter is worth 60% more than Clarke!!

Clarke’s a funny one. He is awesome at this level and I’m desperate for him to stay as I think we’ll lose a huge % of our threat with him gone. But I just don’t see him making an impact with ipswich at all. He’ll be up against faster, better full backs and I’ve seen him struggle in big games

We need a clear £25m+ in our hand before we even consider selling him

Want to be careful dragging out too much. Getting millions in with a few days left of the window and then trying to spend it can be a recipe for disaster.
I’m sure SAFC are aware of this. I wouldn’t go so far as to say the owners are on their knees every night before bedtime praying for that to happen…….but I wadnt be surprised.
