Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

This is exactly how I see it mate. I couldn’t give a toss about being proven to be correct or otherwise on a messageboard. I post how I feel at the time, it’s no big deal.
All I want, like us all, is the manager at the time to be given the best chance to win points on a Saturday.
Dick waving at its finest. Let’s be honest, they were originally told that they couldn’t wait for it all to go tits up so they could say they were right, (no one ever would wish that). But one little bit of positivity and guess what they are happy cos they were wrong to some degree. Must be shit to be right all the time
We all want the same thing, but have different views and timescales for getting there. Those young uns have plenty of time on their hands, I’m on the last leg of the 4 x 400m relay me.

What was there to be happy about last season ffs, I've repeatedly called out the recruitment for ignoring what was needed for our squad. They look to be "learning from their mistakes" if these rumours are true. And if you can't see why keeping Clarke is important to the way we play and the contribution that he makes, especially when you look at who we have in the squad to replace him, then sorry can't help you with that.
Keeping Clarke was never likely, everyone knows that he's too good for this league and we won't be able to replace him with anyone as good. Keeping him has never been key to our success this season, planning well for him leaving and spending the money well is (and yes, I know the chances of that happening aren't particularly high).

How is it not likely 🤷‍♂️ The club will have a value, doesn't look like it's been matched so far. If the club are serious about a promotion push, again in my opinion, Clarke would be key to that being successful if you look at who we have to replace him. 15 goals and 4 assists in a team that after the sacking of Mowbray were an absolute shambles. You can see after 2 games under RLB the lad will tear up the championship if we can keep him.

If we get the 25 million I’d be happy with the value like.

He’ll be good under RLB but noticeably we haven’t relied on him at all so far

Goal against Cardiff, assist against Sheff Wed, hacked down that led to the free kick against Sheff Wed that we scored from, nah your right get rid.
You look for the negative in every post 25 million is huge for us.

He got a goal and an assist so far yeah. He’s contributed but can you say without him in both those games we wouldn’t have won? No. Unlike the previous two seasons where without him we’d do nothing

I don’t want to sell him. I’d have him here forever. Sometimes you can’t turn down offers and we will finally survive without him whereas before we wouldn’t

I think without Clarke the results could have easily been different. When you have a player of his ilk in the squad, teams develop games plans around them and frees up other players to do damage.

Of course he plays a big part. This season (so far) it’s apparent though everyone in the squad is playing a much bigger part, someone like mundle will occupy defenders and also the money we will have for a replacement

How do you know we would have won without him  He was one of the only players to come out with any credit last season, without his goals and assists we would be in league 1. Again the club will have a value, nobody has matched it or he would be gone, and who in our current squad do we have that comes close to replacing his contribution ? Christ you say I'm being negative because I know how important he is to our team ffs, give your head a shake

I don’t think he would mind. He’s nowhere near Clarke. Yes players seem to be stepping up and it’s evident we’re better coached now but teams are wary of Clarke and build game plans around stopping him. They wouldn’t do that with Mundle

Clarke + strikers gives us our strongest opportunity to go up. We needed to add to his goals/assists. Losing Clarke would be a huge blow for a promotion challenge.

Also very late in the window to bring in anyone who could even tie the lads shoelaces. 2 lads who were linked have already moved.

Finger crossed we can persuade him to stay for at least this season and take it from there.

Well said, but it's negative to point this out 🤷‍♂️

Who has offered £25 Million though?
