Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

I agree, that’s why I said it’s on a knife edge.

I’m the first to call out the shit and defend people mate. But there’s solid interest in what looks like decent players, we’ve had a good start, and if we keep Clarke it looks good. Right at this moment I don’t think massive negativity is needed.
Keeping Clarke, Jobe new deal and a striker or two that can score would demand credit.

This, it could be the polar opposite of last summers transfer window, holding on to Clarke is the key to success this season imo.
Think we were all quite positive about last summer. Hemir had scored a few goals, Mayenda was the you kid going to burst on the scene, a loan from a Premier League club to carry on from Diallo & this little mental Ukrainian that was going to rip people apart with his bear hands.

Didn’t quite work like that

These new lads could be shit. Or class.

I wish KLD and Speakman would stop messing about and pay the required fee to get Mendy done.
They might save a bit by hanging on but it's false economy if we miss out on promotion by a couple of points because we didn't have a decent striker for the first 3 games.
The way they have dealt with the striker situation is a disgrace!
He's right you know.

Not having a new striker in for the first few games is going to cost us promotion.

KLD out. It's a disgrace.

You would think so like. We've made a very positive start to the season, and these 2 at least have a fair bit experience of men's footy.

I'll be strangely gutted if we don't sign Mendy though and even more so if Clarke goes, but it's the nature of the beast.
Me too. I can’t recall a player making so much noise about wanting to come to Sunderland.

We wouldn't that's the point.
It's the sole consideration of our lot
I fail to see the issue...we would only make a profit on players we buy if they're actually good? And we've barely made any sales so far, and in fact have tied down many of our best prospects to longer contracts?

You need to practice how to post gif's, that was a fail
To be fair you miserable old bastard, I don’t see how your post was moving goalposts. You see the “bed wetters” can’t win this in some posters mind. Firstly they’ve all gone quiet because things are going ok, then when they do post ever so slightly positive stuff, they are still berated. These instigators have been right all of their lives and never once have admitted to being wrong, because quite frankly in their minds, they haven’t been.
I fall in the latter category like, never wrong, oh and the former bit where I said “miserable old bastard”…. And the middle bit about going quiet.

It's because he's spent all of last season and this pre-season constantly moaning and as things get, or appear soon to be resolved he just moves on to moan about something else. I'd love to see the first time he suggested keeping Clarke was key to our success this season.

I'm always wrong so not sure the relevance of that ramble.

This is exactly how I see it mate. I couldn’t give a toss about being proven to be correct or otherwise on a messageboard. I post how I feel at the time, it’s no big deal.
All I want, like us all, is the manager at the time to be given the best chance to win points on a Saturday.

What was there to be happy about last season ffs, I've repeatedly called out the recruitment for ignoring what was needed for our squad. They look to be "learning from their mistakes" if these rumours are true. And if you can't see why keeping Clarke is important to the way we play and the contribution that he makes, especially when you look at who we have in the squad to replace him, then sorry can't help you with that.
