I couldn’t agree more. We should always think twice before posting things that are derogatory about a player and remember that there is a vulnerable human being in there. They are just regular guys or girls who happen to have a certain degree of talent in their chosen sport but they are not made of stone. They have human frailties just like you and me. This is one of the horrors of social media of all kinds. It is easy to say something about someone to the rest of the world but more often than not you wouldn’t dream of saying it to his or her face. The shield of electronic communication of all kinds is far too easy to hide behind.Grew up watching his resilience in test cricket, an absolutely solid cricketer.
So sad that mental illness took hold of him, but what a wonderful thing his family have done in being so public about the whole matter.
It's a good reminder to all of us that when we are losing our shit at sportspeople, none of us know what's going on with them.
Weird postabsolutely underrated. A proper world class cricketer. And someone who genuinely struggled with mental health. Not like that wonky faced attention seeking wrong un Flintoff.
What do you disagree with?Weird post

The unnecessary dig at Flintoff on a thread about the death of Graham ThorpeWhat do you disagree with?
so? That makes him a saint does it?While Flintoff was recovering from his injuries he went to visit Thorpe to check on him.
Don't believe all you read or hear about Flintoff.

Always found him a bit David Brent. Bit cringe. Singing Elvis during the BBL Anything to cash in on his dubious celebrity of one good series. Some people might like his boxing or his Lord of the fries though. Some people find paddy mcguiness funny.Like the first baddie in Dirty Harry - I’ve just gots to know…any reason for the dislike of Flintoff?

Fecking hell, that’s grim.RIP GT a great cricketer for England. I’m sorry if this story is inappropriate but it has been on my mind since I heard the news.
I went to a talk in with Alec Stewart and he was asked about the worst sledge he had ever heard. He talked about Chris cairns bowling to Thorpe. He said Cairns was horrible. He was bowling a really good spell to Thorpe who played and missed ball after ball. Thorpe at the time was having marital problems and after playing and missing for the umpteenth time Cairns said ‘no wonder your wife looked elsewhere if you are as bad in bed as you are with the bat’ to which Thorpe replied ‘make sure you sister looks both left and right before crossing a railway line’. Cairns sister had died after being hit by a train and it seems Thorpe has died the same way![]()

Wonky face ?the man had a serious accident and was badly injured, probably causes him mental torment, out of orderabsolutely underrated. A proper world class cricketer. And someone who genuinely struggled with mental health. Not like that wonky faced attention seeking wrong un Flintoff.
Agreed.Feel sad for Thorpe, but even sadder for the train driver.Tragic but hate when people commit suicide by train. The impact that can have on the driver, passengers etc is awful. Can completely understand wanting to take ones own life, but putting it onto others essentially is awful
Below the belt that, mate.absolutely underrated. A proper world class cricketer. And someone who genuinely struggled with mental health. Not like that wonky faced attention seeking wrong un Flintoff.
