Yeah but two weeks ago things were getting desperate and it looked like we were penny pinching and we needed to bring someone in quickly, then the season started and Mayenda banged a few in unexpectedly. Plus the last few days it looked like we'd finally get Mendy so was coming round to the idea.
Perhaps the club had more faith in Mayenda than some of the fans did after seeing him in preseason and training. He was signed to play at the end of the day.

Mate I don't really take this transfer lark that seriously and don't go through every link on social media like you obviously do. I wouldn't hang on every comment somebody makes either, just a bit of fun isn't it.
Nothing to do with ambition just business sense. Ultimately he is an older player who isn’t proven at this level, his form at a lower level has made the club think he is worth a gamble at a certain price and now he isn’t available at that price. I’d much rather look for someone else than end up like Donald paying well over the odds for Grigg just to get the player he wanted
