Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

Probably because he’s the one who would fetch decent money who isn’t an automatic first choice and it doesn’t appear we have money to spend, otherwise

We'll have money available, no doubt about that for me. Selling him on without waiting to see if he's trained on, bad move IMO. I'd like to see the lad given a run as our 10 before acting in haste. Ten minutes after flopping him we'd have to be out looking for a replacement. :)

I’d be concentrating on getting shot of the deadwood first personally & freeing up wages etc. The squads bloated.
So would I but they may be hard to shift

I hope you’re right mate. We need tit he striker situation sorting and they cost money

I reckon the last week will be busy. Pembele, Hjelde, Johnson out on loan and Anderson permanently with a RB and LB coming in. Possibly a CDM in and potentially Ekwah out.
Loans for Hemir, Bennette and possibly Ba.
Two centre forwards in.
We won't be getting a left back in. They just shove Alese there if needed. We wont be getting a CDM either. I can just see 1 striker coming in.

Can you post something like

Victor Anichebe still kicking a ball about? Worth a shout
Couldn’t move then so probably wouldn’t make much difference now. Chuck the big lump upfront and watch him cause havoc. Could bring Akinfenwa out of retirement aswell and he would actually get a game currently.

I really don't understand the clamour to see Ekwah moved on. He's a good player and over a long season he's a squad ready replacement who can slot in for tired legs or injury. People crying out for a promotion push yet some want him gone. Strange.
I think it’s more that people think we need some cash coming in to allow us to buy Mendy / another forward.

I’d lower those expectations if I were you mate 😅😂

If it’s to sell him to fund 2 strikers it’s a no brainer

Fair comment. If we need cash coming in from flopping one of our better players in order to buy a second division 30 year old and fund a bairn on loan we're in trouble.

As I've just posted I agree, it's a no brainer, but not in the sense you're saying it. :)

Thing is though he'd probably still need replacing as we'd only really have Rigg to step in. I'd still like to see onein step into the DM role now and again when the CBs are all fit. I know he struggled in midfield before but that was years ago and he's so much better on the ball now.
