Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

Why would you willingly pay over the odds ? It makes future deals difficult aswel as other teams syary to also try and take the piss and squeeze money. You just get a reputation as a soft touch

It’s easy to just say pay whatever and stump up the cash when it’s not your money that’s getting spent
I wouldn't.
I know.
I know.
I know.

It's also easy for lots of other teams to sign players they want by paying the asking price or agreeing another price. If he's the only player we want they obviously don't think the fee is miles away, so get him in.

It seems that our ownership and management believe themselves to be the sole arbiters of a player’s worth whether they are buying or selling.

I am not one to repeatedly call out Speakman/the owner but we've been 'haggling' for weeks now and the longer it takes the more likely we are to drop points and although it's the start of the season, we could regret it come May.

It's staggering that we're seemingly no closer to getting anyone in, how anyone can excuse it by saying we're 'haggling' is crazy when we've spent fuck all so far.
Maybe he has done everything possible and the new owners of Caen are holding a grudge against Mendy and are making it as awkward as possible for him.

What point? That Speakman has contributed ? Ok, well done
You randomly decided to take a dig at fans who might question Speakman. I gave you some context in the initial reply which you either chose to ignore or don’t understand.

No one has a go at KS record 21-22. Pretty much everyone agrees they were good. They highlight the windows from Jan 23. Some just can’t seem to grasp the nuance of that. Seems your one of them

Have a look at our main “assets”.
Either home grown (Neil, Rigg, Patterson) or signed Aug 22 or before (pretty much all of them) and the club captain not signed by him

Ok mate, enjoy you’re evening

It’s not upto him if they accept hows it his fault they won’t accept its setting an example that we won’t let clubs take the piss out of us with money
No its costing us decent strikers. Already missed Moore and Ugbo. Its his fault because he needs to get it into his head and so do you that decent strikers cost money

I honestly don’t see us spending the kind of money it would need to buy him permanently. Stoke would also pay more in wages and it’s closer to London for a lad who said that was a major factor in his decision making last season.

As much as I’d like him I think Stansfield is a non starter for us
And there you have it. We wont pay what it takes
Never missed them at all never had a chance he’s already played for Sheffield was settled there and moores wages are astronomical
Never had a chance with this lot at the helm. Just like we wont pay what it takes for Stansfield
