KS is bringing in kids who are more suited to the u23s or U19s. It’s looking more and more like we need someone else doing a similar job for the first team squad OR an increase in budget to allow KS to bring in battle hardened first team players.

We had a deal agreed for Mendy but then the club changed hands and they want more money.
Alex Pritchard demanded to be sold and would not play for the club.
Nathan Broadhead turned the club down because he didn’t want to be second choice and went to place where he was second choice.
Ross Stewart wouldn’t sign a contract as he wanted to play in the Premier League and then signed for a team in the championship.
We have to give Newcastle the Black Cats Bar as we needed to accommodate them, but at least we made lots of money off them. (I wonder where that 250k has gone…)

Amusing post. I genuinely enjoyed it.
But actually buying a pint isn't a good analogy for a football transfer. In pubs, prices are fixed, not negotiated. And you can get the exact same beer in other establishments.
In transfers, stand-offs between clubs are not unusual. It's brinkmanship. Both believe the other will compromise as deadline day approaches. It's why quite a few go down to the wire.

I'm usually an optimist & still fully expect/hope us to get 2 strikers (one probably on loan from a Prem club) in by the transfer deadline.
But it's a very very poor effort by the club to start the season without at least one of these in and integrated.
A good start to the season is massive & the momentum can take you right through (look at Ipswich last season)
Harvey/Speakman & the Board have really failed to learn the lessons of previous seasons & made it very hard for Le Bis to get a flying start.

Not really other clubs move on swiftly and have other things in the pipe line. I think they know they had a good deal in place for Mendy and are scared to walk away in case the club sanction the deal. The worrying thing for me is we need 2 strikers and we genuinely don’t seem to have any other options because they will cost over double what Mendy would have. Even if it turns out we get Mendy and that’s the only striker signing we will still be massively short in the striker position. Would be an injury away from a crisis. If we had got Ugbo I would have been a lot more relaxed and would genuinely believed in the ownership more where we had 2 decent genuine options up front. Said it before but the club is that hung up on getting the right deal for the club it doesn’t work when it comes to getting a striker because you generally don’t get good value for money as every club is after one.

Whilst it may not be right given this is game 1 of a long season it won’t take much, couple of good chances not converted and a draw or defeat today and the pressure will inevitably increase……all of their own doing mind
I think the point is, how about we actually wait to see what happens before turning negative? It's as though some want the club to fail just to be able to say "I told you so", which is often the case.
