And having shown her the pictures, my wife has just asked if it will be open for the Sheffield Wednesday game![]()
I told our lass they are leaving the big crane in place and it will form part of the bridge.
She believed me.

The last picture captures a little of what the route will be like and makes sense of Keel Sq
Are they pouring concrete in it as well?
No its voided to allow for access and inspection
I didn't mean now, I'm asking is that what the plan is
The last picture captures a little of what the route will be like and makes sense of Keel Sqit’s fantastic.
I can’t believe that the council ever agreed to something like a footbridge and then make such a good job of the whole project. Quality and not just cheap “make do”.
Got to hand it to SDC, and I’v been a big critic in the past.

I think Patrick Melia is the best thing to happen to Sunderland in a very long time.
There's was definitely a deck to be poured when I was talking to them but that was a good while backNo there’s no concrete getting poured at all
Yes, once all the services and electrics etc are installed they will be pouring the concrete deck. There's was definitely a deck to be poured when I was talking to them but that was a good while back

Is there a low level footbridge in the plans too, or did I make that up?

Iirc the yellow crane now gets dismantled and taken across to the other side to lift the south sections in place, then the centre section is lifted in last. All the deck will then have to be built etc as these are hollow sections, so can see how theres still a year to go.It's flying up.
I obviously know nothing about bridges but its hard to see how it'll take another whole year to complete.
