Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

Sadly he will be, patience will be bordering on zero. Still no assistant and the fact that Dodds and Proctor haven’t been replaced to be honest is not a surprise. The football under Dodds almost had us relegated. The owner’s loyalty is denying the opportunity to bring better qualified coaches. Quality of players is obviously paramount but the Head Coach and his assistants will make the real difference as to how successful we will be this season.
Couldn’t agree more mate.

Madness is doing the same thing again and again and expecting different results.

The striker /cf situation is just gross mismanagement

Get the thread back on track.

Just left the store and driving past the hotel there was a guy in a Merc who looked very very much like Mendy. Had an earring in right ear if anyone can confirm if he has one.

That's what some of our older generation of fans struggle with. To a lot of people we do have a divine right to be in the Premier league. I'm not saying that's what we shouldn't be striving for, of course it should, but a lot of people struggle with the notion that after the last 10 years or so we are not as big a proposition as we used to be. I hope we can get back there ASAP.
We are the biggest club outside the premier league how dare the support want us to have a go and try to be promoted.

With no competent strikers this team will be in a relegation battle. Whether it’s Mende or not we need 2 competent strikers.

We are the least demanding supporters in the country but with 32,000 season ticket holders and 100,000s of shirt sales we should at least expect the club to have a go for promotion.

Just words from the owners and speakman about lessons being learnt. We need action.

Another season of plodding on it appears at the moment.

I'd agree if it wasn't evident that we had a deal in the works and are trying

Point 1) Opinion

Point 2) Exactly the mindset I was talking about. Season ticket sales and shirt sales mean absolutely fuck all in 2024. Hence why you've had the likes of Bournemouth, Luton and others in the PL recently.

I'd be amazed if he'd got his car over here already mind

If we ever do get this deal over the line, by God this lad has to hit the ground running!

The club have spent over a month now on this lad and look to have thrown all their eggs in this one basket. If he comes and is poor, then surely someone has to pay for such another woefully inept transfer window.

I hope he's worth it, for all our sakes.

Is it evident? Linked with Mendy and the club played this down.

Trying isn’t good enough I’m afraid because we’ve been fed that bullshit for 3 windows now. It’s just over 1 week till the season starts and yet again we don’t have a striker ready for championship football. Mayenda has done okay in pre season but to just throw him in isn’t fair on him either.

I agree with you mate, but I do believe the big french outlets personally, they won't be making it up for the craic and recent reports from the outlets that were playing it down have since said we have been in talks for him trying to get a deal done since he made it public he wanted to join.

My thoughts too. Maybe a club car?

Speaking of KFC and more generally speaking,

How f***ing good is fried chicken with buffalo hot sauce. Unreal

Mayenda played 8 times for SAFC last season,2 times for Hibs .He is 19 years old. Take a reality check. These young lads are here to learn. If you don't play how do you learn .Your words of wisdom are eagerly awaited .
10 apps for 2 clubs and no goals.
18 year old.
1 career goal in mens football.

What gives him the right to be leading the line against Cardiff.
If he is it's a monumental fuck up.

And this is not a dig at Mayenda, he young and raw and obviously needs time.

Exactly my point mate. Doesn't give us some divine right to expect to be in the Prem. There are plenty other teams that are in or have been in the Championship recently with a lot more recent success than us.
It's about time we showed some arrogance, you wouldn't have Leeds fans saying they don't have a divine right to be in the PL.
