Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

Patently untrue. At the end of last season we were two games away from being right back where we were when KLD and the bafflingly still employed Speakman came along, and the reasons for that were plain to see to anyone even those outside the club and it's support. Failure to balance the squad with effective attacking talent over MULTIPLE transfer windows, sacking a decent manager - OK there was some mitigation for that one - and replacing him with an obviously horrendous choice, and then writing off the rest of that season by not having a replacement lined up when the mistake was admitted to and Beale was put out of his misery.

As I said, if there'd been two more games to play, we'd be prepping for another stint in L1 and the "value" of the young squad KS has assembled would be null and void as they'd all have been away for buttons, and we'd be looking at a first team weaker than the one that was well beaten by Bradford City the other night.
But it isn't   If you don't think the club is in a far better place and the squad is far more valuable than before KS turned up then I don't know what to tell you. If my auntie had bollocks she'd be my uncle, similarly we didn't get relegated last season.

He isn't a dcm and again 3 free transfers with 9 days until we kick off against Cardiff, with a good chance Clarke will be away too.Neil was tried as a dcm last season, it was obvious he struggled there.
Neil is absolutely being moulded into the type of 6 Le Bris wants to use and Neil actually got a lot better defensively near the end of the season. He should suit being able to dictate the play from deeper positions

We need to start realising some of that value and reinvesting. we are in real danger of stagnating as a squad, and that will dilute the value of our best assets.

So you’ve pulled up the poster defending himself for being called a tit for having a valid opinion, but not the poster who called him a tit.

The same poster who cries that he gets abuse (he doesn’t he just doesn’t like peoples opinions that aren’t clapping) whilst dishing out abuse on the daily.
Didn’t think that deeply about it to be fair.

Just thought it was funny to see such a tirade of late night abuse about, what is ultimately, someone’s opinion on a game.

Soz.

I don't think Mendy will move because of one of Mpabbe family interested to take over Mendy's club, Caen. That's why it is delayed at the moment. However, Mayenda is more likely to play up top at the minute, He looked so good there, he pressed well with a team at the right time. He's class at his age and very good prospect but however we do need an experience striker. I wouldn't mind take Andy Cook from Bradford. He's capable to score goals out of nowhere, good at keeping the ball, strong and good headers but problem is that his pace isn't great. I'm sure you guys wouldn't want to bring League 2 player in our squad!!!!!! lol

I fully agree. I don't think we will see real money spent until we sell soneone for real money. They have actively pushed that narrative that we will be sustainable in that regard. The bigger problem with that is you need to do it early in a window for it to be effective. If we sell Clarke next week, we don't have long to re-invest the money.

Also I see this square pegs shit a lot, we have a young squad, players change positions and roles throughout their careers, Neil's passing is great and defensively he is improving he's already shown he can do well sitting this pre-season. Neil actually has an awful end product like we have seen the amount of shots he scuppers, might be better for him being deeper and being able to spray balls out wide etc

Get established strikers in and play total football (I know) if you want to blood the squad in multiple positions. but there is no way speakman is that smart that it's his masterplan.

I think Le Bris will be seen to be smart, we need to help the lad succeed by giving him the tools.

They are shite when played in the 21s man or against teams like Bradford who are 1 step up from non league. If they need to learn can they just f..k off and learn somewhere else, because it is frightening to think that they are in our 1st squad
We have spent many seasons getting old ,established players .Remind us how many times that got us relegated and into financial trouble .Maybe you should find another team to support with established players. The finances available are slowly coming together for building the future of the club.

You might be comfortable sailing that close to the wind, especially when the year before we were ONE game away from the Premier League, but I'm not. As I said, the gambles they took last year nearly rendered that "valuable" squad worthless. That is not progression in any language.

Mayenda scored a few in the 21's didn't he? wasn't played there often as he was shipped out to a shit hibs team

From and including the Jan 23 transfer window prior to this transfer window only Jobe and Ekwah have been regular first team starters and can be considered as a success. In that time Speakman has signed around 16 players and wasted millions on the likes of Mundle, Hjelde, Rusyn, Hemir, Mayenda.

The CF situation still remains unresolved. We will sign the cheaper option because that is the mentality of the club. I hope I am totally wrong but we won’t pay for the likes of young Stansfield, or Shankland or Hardie who are far less of a risk in signing a 30 year old French CF who has no resale value.

Browne when asked why he signed for us…. “ Because Sunderland are one of the biggest clubs in England” yeah he’s right pity the owner won’t pay for quality.
free agent can be good. We go free for Pritchard and turn out to be good player for us. Sometime we have to accept. Browne is itelligent player and good inflence for our young midfield players to learn from. Everyone keep saying we need an experience player in the middle, there you are. Stop complaining then! Our owner and saving costs can be good for our club as long as we arent in debt like what this clown Short did for us.

See you at Fleetwood .....soon

We have a good squad.
It lacks firepower.

Everyone knows it
Everyone can see it

The club also know it, which is why we chucked brass at 4 players last season to fix it.
they all failed.
But this is EXACTLY what Speakman's job is, and has been for some time. You are right, we can all see it, fans and managers of other clubs can see it, tabloid journalists and fuckwit millennial bloggers can see it FFS, but he is incapable of fixing it. We "chucked brass" at four players as you said, NONE of which is up to the job, as was proven by their goal returns. We've seen them again this pre-season and they have not kicked on an iota. Those four players were identified, scouted and signed by KS. If this continues, we will regress and L1 is the only eventual result of that. There is NO evidence to suggest KS is improving in his competence, if anything, he's got worse over his time here.

maybe odd derranged fan but 99% of people would be delighted.

We're in a v similar spot to 12 months ago despite bringing in a boat load of players who cant operate at this level.

We need to move forward this window. Thats all thst peoples frustrations boil down to and rightly so
Its worse mate really because the boat load are not even Bradford standard .
