Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

Am a little new to the workings of transfers. Can someone help?

Am reading where the Mbappe family are ‘trying’ to convince Mendy to stay put. I get that you want to have motivated players on your squad and all, but isn’t he under contract until 2026? Can’t they (in what ever manner they wish) to explain that he is under contract? Am thinking we are not in a very good position here. Is that fair to state?

It doesn't work, does it? How do you develop someone like Pembele, or Triantis on that basis? They won't get games as they are not good enough, and how often do we loan players out for them to come back in and be demonstrably better? Henderson and Pickford the last ones maybe? :) I don't see us improving those fringe players to the point where anyone will want to take them off us for a fee, under the current model.

Embleton went to Blackpool on loan and came back and more than played his part in the Play Off winning season to be fair.. Can't think of any others at this point.

Think it was between 1 and 1.5 with add ons. Reported as the max at Leeds end as happens but probably closer to the lower end at this point. He needs to develop definitely but at 20 may well do over time.
Hopefully mate, just feel that money could’ve been better spent on another area of the squad. That said, we’d pretty much downed tools from January onwards.

The lad from the Belgian team sounds like a big lump. Not a natural goal scorer, no technique, doesn't run about. But can challenge for headers. Sounds shite to be fair.

Doesnt sound great but he'd be our best striker if we signed him, goes to show how desperate we are atm.

Well we want 25 now.

I'm sure we do, but it doesn't always work out like that. Especially when the lad enters his last year when the window closes.

I just hope it doesn't come down to that, and if we are selling, then its done much sooner rather than later. We all know that deadline day can throw up some surprise tho, both good and bad.
