Not saying it’s the case mind but would you rather we push on with signing him just to have him through the door when we might have to wait another week to get through a different/better target to become available?

I want to sign the best striker we possibly can, regardless if it’s this week or next.

from what i've heard we do and are looking at others but that's just what I've heard not claiming to know more than the next

Speakman tells us we are preparing for the next window as soon as the previous one shuts.

Despite this we still dont have a forward for over 18 months since Stewart got injured at Fulham. Some preparation.

We are also linked to foreign strikers who take much longer to settle so integration needs to happen sooner than later. Yet we will probably be scrambling round in the last week of the window or bring back Dajaku as the great man has said more than once he can be our centre forward.

Speakman's job is to provide the gaffer he has identified as "correct" with the tools to do his job.

We have to hope that this expectation is to succeed in the league we find ourselves in, for Regis to do this he needs strikers who can actually score goals, if this does not happen again (whatever the reason for non delivery), we are all going to be honking about crap performances, results etc etc etc.

Bang average sides always appear to be decent when they have lads who can bang them in regularly.

Our old mate brucie looked canny when Bent was a given to score. We need to find the lads who can do it, or accept treading water.
