Yes i agree and the challenge of him settling in straight away as some foreign players take time to adjust , the clubs must be hagling over the fee ..... so we will rtn to the market and end up either paying over the odds for someone or end up again with no No9 and running out of time.

Caveat is he will be weeks behind if he does sign here. Think it would've happened by now if it was close as the player had suggested on Friday night.

He's still in training, just not allowed to join in with others, so his general fitness should be fine. We just need to make sure we get the deal done in time for him to play in at least one of the friendlies so he has some minutes in the tank before the season starts (if he's going to sign at all).

Didn't something come in last year to allow PL and Championship clubs to sign a handful of players who usually wouldn't get work permits? It's how we got Triantis IIRC.

Yes but it still takes close to a week to process.
