A little over 3 weeks to season start....

We waste pre-season every year, transfer deals take us an eternity and are usually done at the last minute when we bring in a few loans/free transfers who are not up to speed. Never learn a thing no matter who owns the club, buys the players etc. FTM
It's the same for most clubs.
Some on here think that going almost 4 years without signing a decent striker is actually good business by the club.
We also haven't needed to sign a decent striker during the entire four years but I take your point. They absolutely need to bring one in this window, it sounds like they're well aware of it but we'll see. Business was never going to be wrapped up before the first game.

The market hasn't got going since January 2023 when we've been strikerless since?
That's not true though, people keep missing the most important point. We've brought in 5 since then. Not one of them good enough, I'll give Gelhardt a bit praise. The other 4 🤦
It's the lack of quality that's been the problem not actually signing for a striker

....and Speakman still hasn't secured a Championship standard, proven striker.
Three weeks to relocate to the region, settle in, integrate into the new coaches playing style and effectively get to know your teammates. Already a big ask. Pre-season games will soon be lost opportunities to achieve the same too.
Once again, Speakman running out of time and not demonstrating lessons learned from last season.
……we’re not getting one.

It makes no odds the "Stepford Wives Club" will keep on chanting the same old shite as they have since the club surrendered last season.
No need to make any decisions Dodds Ok
End of season, managers still in contract have to wait.
Players away no need for any hurry as canb't train.
Fixtures haven't been announce
Preseason is irrelevant
No need to settle in club chat about transfers as we have the "Model"
Coach anyway not buyer
Player not here so cant see them doesn't matter
Imminent
Turned down, not reall target plenty time no need to panic
Manager we wanted all the time.
Doesn't want or need own assistants as plenty help, sucession planning you know.
What strikers don't need strikers.
3 weeks plenty time
Off to a flyer you'll see.

Missed a few as the dailey drivel never ends

This needed another f***ing thread like.
OP absolutely has a point, though. Displayed nothing but relegation form last season. Out of 24 teams last season, only 7 teams scored fewer than our 52 goals - and 3 of them got relegated

If we displayed “nothing but relegation form” last season we’d have been relegated man

May well be the club has to wait for exits before they can stump up any decent coin. Lost 9m last accounts, may well be more next accounts, so unless the owners are gonna pump more money in over and above this, itll have to be sales first…and not many clubs have started buying, especially those at the bottom of the prem/ favourites for promotion as they have to sell in a lot of cases too
And it’s not one striker we need its two, because guaranteed we just bring one in he’ll get injured

Usual lot still defending the club.

Cant wait to see Proctor and Dodds on the touch line again and starting Jobe up top.

Didn't realise all business must be completed by the opening day. Obviously it'd be nice but it doesn't happen for any club.

Why do people say this every year. Yay let's sacrifice a fair chunk of the season and the early rounds of a cup competition, while waiting on a few cheaper deals as per usual.

Because even when they're signed at the end of August, they take a month or so for get to speed etc. plus inevitably someone well sign will be signed injured.

Just once it'd be nice to have at least the key areas strengthened for those first games - especially when they seem to always be quite winnable fixtures.
