Regis le Bris - confirmed

The surname is Breton, not French. The closest match I can find in Breton is brizh, meaning speckled or mottled. Brings up an unfortunate image of a mediaeval peasant with a bad case of acne.
Is He French? is his surname spelt Bris?Your looking for an approximation meaning in breton? yet in french its breakage ...... to be honest whilst im sure your on the right track ..ill just stick with the french translation as sometimes you dont have to travel to the far end of a fart to experience the sweetest aroma! ;)

He's Breton. Born in Pont-Abbe in Finisterre. The French government suppressed the Breton language (similar to Welsh and Cornish) in the 19th century and all the surnames and words were Gallicised.

The Fall and Rise of Reginald Forrin.

A complete unknown quantity. Could be the next Wenger, who the fuck knows or je ne sais pas?

Isn't a bris where they lob off someone's foreskin?

I didn't say anything this post disagrees with?
I read you saying that he was sold because they wanted to kick on and that he has played more games was suggesting he was sold because he was too young and that the playing time will have improved him. That’s how I interpreted it anyway. If you agree with me and have just put it in a much nicer way for Adil then fair enough. :)

Ah well. How did I know people would would look for the negatives in this appointment. Its remarkable how many people have negativity as their first thought.
After the shit show over the last 12 months people are naturally cautious about the appointment of an unknown entity with no experience in the English leagues. But you know that - you're just being your normal antagonistic self.

No I'm not. For that to be true I would have to feel negative about this appointment. I don't. All managerial appointments are gambles, no-one knows if this fella will succeed or not. Some people naturally look for negativity, others look at it as either a clean slate or positively.
It's a personal choice how people look at the same event differently.

I don’t disagree it’s a huge gamble. But we can’t judge how good he is yet, or where he sits in the echelons of Sunderland managers.

They may be able to judge with what they know that he’s the next big up and coming thing. If they are right and he is successful I don’t get why you would want them out.

The most successful people learn from mistakes. Whether the club ownership have remains to be seen. But cutting off our nose to spite our face seems a bit daft to me, all we want is success
I too want success but the direction and the broken model Sunderland developed has angered many supporters. I am glad your optimistic but I seen little with this club and administration to lead me to believe PL success is around the corner. It’s time that KLD and Speakman leave the club. We need a new direction even the directors and journalists have hinted the same thing. Prove it I say that coming from a large section of diehard supporters..

They only rep about 40 players and we have 3 of them  Now got the manager too

Not saying there’s anything untoward but they certainly seem to trust this agent.
Why would there work with an agent they didn’t?

There’s absolutely nothing to see here. Just people desperate to find something negative.

Conspiracy nuts

Yes I was just being gentle. I agree with your assessment of him.

He is also french though isnt He?if he gans to register at a hotel and writes la bris on the register....so that will do for me !My surname at its root has french and old norse approximations and roots but i use the english in the modern world !

Think your being a bit harsh there like.
Selling gifted players as you call it (one of them being his top scorer)
It is fairly natural to assume he will struggle to maintain form.
Not saying he is the right man but I think we should judge him here and not somewhere we didn’t know the full circumstances.

I would guess if a DOF/Owner sell their teams best players and don’t replace them adequately then the blame lies more with them than the head coach.
One tenth place finish, one relegation! I heard he got 30million to spend following players being sold. Did we not sell our only striker, fail to adequately replace him, not have a manager for almost 50% of the season and not get relegated. He’s not going to get 30milliom here, his best player is almost certainly going to depart, what in his CV/record suggest he’s going to excel here?
