Regis le Bris - confirmed

Neeee point crying over spilt milk we all hope he comes in a does a cracking job. Just get the feeling it’ll be another fluke like should it happen I’ve got zero faith in those running the club atm hopefully they right that as the summer goes on and we can actually look forward to August.

I would say this hire is a huge gamble thou his work has been with youth squad. I personally think the Championship requires experience and KLD refuses to pay for it and the team of coaches plus the new players they want….Just on this hire even if he is a star makes me want KLD out of this club.

I don’t disagree it’s a huge gamble. But we can’t judge how good he is yet, or where he sits in the echelons of Sunderland managers.

They may be able to judge with what they know that he’s the next big up and coming thing. If they are right and he is successful I don’t get why you would want them out.

The most successful people learn from mistakes. Whether the club ownership have remains to be seen. But cutting off our nose to spite our face seems a bit daft to me, all we want is success

You’d assume he’ll be off reading that.
Well Aouchiche was sold him after the tenth place finish when they were looking to kick on. He was young and raw and not what they needed. It's a year on now and he got plenty more game time with us than Lorient so perhaps he'll look at him in a different light.

Also he's our best corner taker now we've sacked off the Dack.

That’s all we can hope for they’ve not shown they’ve learnt yet come the end of the summer we will know how much they’ve “learned”

It will be interesting to see his first press conference ans what he thinks is his remit is!...I hope his remit is promotion to the premiership and the minimal target is the playoffs next season ..sadly i think his remit will be to develop young players for sale at a profit and success on the pitch is only a by product of that goal.........Until the team becomes the focus of attention and not the development of the individuals within it we are going to be treading water for years to come..........

Rumours of big changes behind the scenes of the club are rife !Lets hope its not just spin from the club and we really are focusing on team success for once as the prime driver. One thing is for sure they cannot hide this summer so i for one am hoping for the best whilst expecting the worst. no sorry i should have said mediocrity and wall to wall beige!

As an outsider I am a tad confused.
He played through the system Le Bris was coaching beneath first the first team level, but the newspaper report states he will have to learn the system.
Then he was sold.
If the under age/reserve system doesn't lead to first team places...

Somebody mentioned somewhere that this latest manager of ours is left field, and he is certainly that.
Checking our managerial history the vast majority have been British apart from a 2 year period about 10 years ago when first Paolo, then Poyet and Advocaat were hired, 3 foreign managers in a row.
Le Bris becomes our 4th ever foreign manager now.
Difference being the previous three were well known to us having all previously managed in Britain, and indeed Paolo and Poyet having played in Britain.
It's a tall order for Le Bris for a few different reasons, but obviously wish him well. Pleased to hear that he favours attacking football.
Roy Keane as well. And Quinny if including caretakers.

Couldn’t give a shiny sh#t how many appearances this guy made as a player…his managerial C.V is chod…10th place in Ligue 1 when he has struck lucky with a group of gifted players that were subsequently sold says nothing about his actual ability as a manger. Relegation the following season when he needed to get a tune out of less gifted players says more. Whichever way you dress this up it is an awful appointment by those in charge.

Think your being a bit harsh there like.
Selling gifted players as you call it (one of them being his top scorer)
It is fairly natural to assume he will struggle to maintain form.
Not saying he is the right man but I think we should judge him here and not somewhere we didn’t know the full circumstances.

I would guess if a DOF/Owner sell their teams best players and don’t replace them adequately then the blame lies more with them than the head coach.

Seen these posts a lot the last few days. If we do well it is a fluke, if we do bad it is on KLD/KS.
I guess Arsenal must have got a fluke when they got Wenger when he had failed and got relegated in his first job.

Let’s hope it’s as big a fluke then, I’ll take that. Wenga has a fair bit of experience managing before arsenal mind and managing big players at Monaco but I get the gist of your post let’s hope for half as good a fluke.
