Regis le Bris - confirmed

I watched about 6 or 7 highlights from lorient games and theres 5 or 6 goals came from them pressing teams just outside their own box.
I’ll take your word for it. Think it was Roker Report or one of the others who spoke with the Ligue Un reporter who said the opposite

Teams giving us enough respect to sit deep would be a good place to get back to. First season under Mowbray it was a common problem, last season felt like everyone was smelling blood
haha, i've just said the exact opposite.

I think it's actually depending on when you're talking about. Under Mowbray teams were sitting in, and either grinding out a draw (Swansea) or hitting us with a sucker punch (Cardiff, Huddersfield). After he went you're right, teams started to have a go at taking us on because they correctly identified we were all over the place.

Good luck to Le Bris, he will need it working with our set up..Nothing about any other staff coming with him and yet another shuffled out announcement like they are embarrassed, hardly endorsing him.

Last season we tried to switch to being a team that dominates possession with "ball playing" CBs. I am guessing the thinking was that our first season back, clubs attacked us but post play off finish they might not be as willing to go at us. I think it was a mistake, not a lot of Championship teams are passive enough to sit deep, hence the nature of the league where everyone can beat everyone.

This might be a return to our previous approach, which I think does suit us better.

I think last season was always going to be tough. After a good first season we were ripe for 'second season syndrome' - higher expectations all round and more respect from the opposition meant a tougher season.

Whether a slower, possession based approach was a deliberate or accidental by-product of this I'm not sure, but it came as no real surprise.

Right. Now get an experienced stirker and a DM and we can start to turn this oil tanker around.
Calm down, Speakman just worked his socks off to get his 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th choice manager, give him a break.

Any manager is relying on the tools he's been given to do the job. A good carpenter will do a poor job with rusty tools.

The owners need to give him the best tools possible to do the job. That means doing everything possible to push our finances within the limit of ffp or whatever and not penny pich

This seems like an endorsement to me

I think it was deliberate, based on the club getting rid of Batth and telling us O'Nein would be first choice because he can bring the ball out from the back.
