Regis le Bris - confirmed

That is certainly true of a couple and of course we’ve got two or three players with them too. I’m not a particularly gullible bloke generally but I am usually quite optimistic. I think there is cause for some optimism. There’s also enough to worry about it going horribly wrong but for now I’m in the optimistic camp.
Does this represent ‘progression’ from Mowbray’s tenure?

Simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’

I checked that because it didn't seem true and its not.

If a club finishes in a higher position then a lower position when some players leave, was their relative success down to the talented players they had or the manager? Its probably a bit of both, right?

The drop off is quite severe here though. From reading about him it seems they lost a couple of forward players and he changed systems. Their issues have been at the back rather than replacing the goals they lost. As we've seen with several other clubs in our own division, losing your talented players happens. You dont always see teams drop 7 places when they lose a couple.
We lost Stewart and Amad and dropped ten places. I know HC choices factor into that too….but if you lost your most important players there is always a chance a drop off like that can happen.

Losing Quinn to injuries/age and Hutchinson when we did was another instance of a massive drop off with a similar squad.

Though losing good attacking players and not adequately replacing them can put pressure on the defense, as we've seen with us, when you no longer have a good out ball or someone up top who can make the ball stick

2 years of managerial experience..
30% win ratio in that 2 years...
1 Relegation to....

This is sunderland AFC not Chesterfield! We deserve better than this 💩

Yeah but again I'd put that down to manager, you've kind of proven my point. We dropped 10 places as a result of replacing mowbray with dumb and dumber and "writing off the season". No chance would we have finished as low as we did had mowbray lasted the season.

Ideal man for the job.

Got relegated as second bottom of the league, goal difference of minus 23 and lost 5 of his last 6 games.

Thank goodness for Speakman’s fantastic world leading database, we’ve ( possibly ) got a world beater in the wings.
When you put it like that… 😂
