Let’s all hope he does well. Sometimes underwhelming appointments turn out to be good ones, by accident rather than design.

However - anyone who’s being honest, has to say that at first glance, this doesn’t look good. Five months of a recruitment “process”, turned down by multiple candidates, and we end up with a fella who has been a manager for a grand total of 76 games in his career, has a win rate of 30%, and already boasts a relegation on his CV.

This absolutely reeks of “just appoint someone, anyone at this stage”.
