Frank Lampard - manager rumours


I can see him being appointed in a desperate attempt to stop young players like Rigg and Neil leaving. As maybe they’ll be sold by what he achieved in his playing career.

Plus he done quite well in that season at Chelsea where he had to work with what he was given, particularly a lot of young players. Speakman will see that as justifying the appointment.
 
Some people’s reaction to this is crazy to me. People are clamouring for someone like Rosenior who in his management career has achieved absolutely nothing as yet.

Lampard got to a playoff final, FA cup final, champions league later stages (which they went on to win) got champions league football for a team with a transfer embargo after having sold their best player. A lot of this is forgotten because of his brief time as caretaker when they were a complete mess which Poch struggled to improve.

People saying his time at derby was a failure is mental. Yes he had a good squad but that was an unbelievably competitive championship. He lost the final 2-1 to villa who had McGinn, Grealish and Tammy Abraham starting.

He wouldn’t be my first choice but he hasn’t been the abject failure people are making out and crucially for me he has got something to prove.

In this case there'll be no other reason other than a few significant bets placed. Probably not even that much money involved but because they havent got an exchange market to go up against they'll be very cautious.

Why?

I wouldn't because he seems clueless, uninspiring and inflexible. He will never succeed and would never manage a bigger club than us if he did get it is my prediction.

I don't think so. I think the overwhelming majority will see what type of football he plays before judging him.

Pouncing on Beale was a lot to do with the fact the football was visibly worse, so were the stats and a revolt to the obvious lie that we were looking to improve when all data showed him to be worse. Add to that an element of hubris across everything he said and he was always heading the wrong way in our opinion. Most of our support is very reasonable.
 
Surprised Dodds isn't in the betting market considering sky bet says this: "Temporary or caretaker managers in charge for 10 competitive games will be deemed permanent and settled as a winner.".

At this stage that sounds realistic!!

And mike dodds would be classed as a winner too.
