Frank Lampard - manager rumours

If it's Lampard, then surely his reputation and stature in the game, he's not going to just bend and do what Speakman tells him. You'd also think he'll have been given assurances. He's not coming in to tow the line like. Said elsewhere, this mess they've created, could actually help in long run. Hopefully they've realised they need to change and mainly, they'll know fans are gunning for them and they'll be more likely than ever imo to have a go at it.

BTW, criticise what you think he's done or not done as a coach, but this criticism because of who he does or doesn't vote for politically, f***ing give owa. Pathetic.

It isn’t that difficult to do, I could do a statement saying Jurgen Klopp is our new head coach, but I can’t be arsed.

The bit where it says “Chief Sporting Director” Kristjaan Speakman says “Frank was our No1 target throughout the hiring process” was enough for me

100% yes would have Lampard, 6 months ago I would of said no but then we brought in Beale who was poor and then Dodds was really poor. Would be a step up especially with terrible names like Terry, Page and Heckingbottom being floated about, his record at Derby was decent, got them playoffs and brought on the fast development of Mason Mount. 1st time at Chelsea got them 4th and to the FA Cup final, Everton not good as took over from Benitez's mess but many managers fail there, Chelsea 2nd time is when they were a basket case of a club, it took them Potter, Lampard and finally Poch to steady that ship, still a basket case of a club with Poch leaving though.

I’m starting to panic. If it is him, has he done well anywhere? Genuinely can’t remember.
Derby he did an okay job
First spell as Chelsea manager he did a decent job in difficult circumstances (transfer embargo I believe)

Everton & 2nd Chelsea spell? Best not mentioned.

Managerial candidates tend to wind their neck in the longer they are out of work. How long has Frank been sat twiddling his thumbs?

Sometimes a time out can become permanent if they are too choosy - ask Alan Curbishly or David O’Leary.
