Frank Lampard - manager rumours

But there's no way he would keep his demands at that level - it's not like once you hit a wage you stay at it forever regardless of level you manage at.
Id be surprised if we pay more than 10-15% of that for a manager and I'd be extremely surprised if Frank Lampard would be happy to take an 85% to 90% pay cut from what he was on at Chelsea to come to a club who pay less than half in wages than his Derby team did 5 years ago and who Mowbray said cant compete with other championship clubs in attracting players. It would be one hell of a fall.

Regardless of the off field turmoil the pull of first team football and not having to uproot and move away from his family should be a big plus in our favour. He will no doubt go on to bigger and better things but staying put for now would be in his best interest if he values his development and isn't tempted by money. Hope he's one of the first names on the team sheet and we get to see him for a couple of years before he inevitably moves on.

Under the current ownership Lampard or anyone else of note won't entertain the thought of coming here. I agree and hope we're proved wrong but it's going to be another Beale type appointment out of sheer desperation just to have a head coach in place.
indeed. High probability its someone very few people on here will have heard of. Sad times.

Are you saying he did well in the Championship or not?
Derby spent a fortune assembling that squad, were spending £46m on wages a year and made a loss of £36m just in that year. All of that money was a gamble on chasing promotion which he failed at and only managed sixth place. 4 years later Mowbray also finished sixth with a wage bill about a third of that and a squad assembled at a fraction of the price. Dont think he did a great job at all with the resources he had available.
