Was Kompany eighth choice though? He was in very quickly after Tuchel left
 

Regardless of who it is, without the ability to improve the string XI and squad through the transfer window and option to bring in members of his own staff (who will know, understand and want to implement his culture and approach), then they aren’t going to make much of an impression.

This is a problem with whoever the candidate is, not specific to Rosenior, as no appointment is a guaranteed success. If it's taken them this long to appoint, despite the constant 'succession planning', we might as well write season after season off until Pep eventually joins.
 
Maybe if he was to start to pronouncing his name Roezenwah he'd be instantly accepted by some on here. After all reading through the various posts having a foreign name obviously makes any coach a much better option.

Then of course we can't have anybody who's been sacked as they must be crap which means Dodds is still in with a chance because as far as I know he hasn't been given the bullet anywhere. This ruled out Potter, Cooper and ironically a number of the foreign coaches we have been strongly liked to recently.

The style of play must be free flowing and entertaining which after watching the ball being constantly passed across the back four for the past six months probably means passing the ball forward three times in succession. Dodds ruled out using that criteria.

This is all totally tongue in cheek but it shows how opinions go from the sublime to the ridiculous. No matter who comes in we need to back them and not end up with another Beale situation. Over the years we've tried the big names, the ones who ' know the division ', caretaker managers and relegation survival experts. They all come with a risk and no guarantee of success.
Let's hope the law of averages mean we finally make the right choice and don't have to go through all this crap again and again.

You can’t coach someone to be suddenly amazing on the ball like you can improve them a bit but the likes of pattison and Ballard can’t play this way it’s killing them

i get what your saying in the rest of your post, but i'm not blindly backing any fucker that talks utter shite from day 1, can't organise a team, can't pick a team, can't answer a straight question and generally just comes across as a narcissistic bellend who is shite at their job (i'm not saying this all applies to Beale)

we are allowed to judge as we find. obviously its easier to judge a manager after a full season with his own team and transfers, but we can also begin to pass judgement from the first interview he does when he walks through the door - both positive and negative.

i don't expect instant success or instant results, but we must be able to see and hear from the new manager that he at least has a clue how to set a team up and take us in a specific direction, otherwise he's not going to get blind trust from the fans, and rightly so
 
Dodds will stay … proctor will stay … speakman will stay … this guy is just another chair at the top table … the model is back

Beale was definitely a one off that's for sure. From what I've seen and heard if it does end up being Liam Rosenior he's a totally different character
