Liam Rosenior

If it's Rosenior I'll be very, very underwhelmed.

It'll be a case of 'we didn't get our first choice, or our second, possibly even our third because we refused to be flexible in terms of the model, so we went for the candidate that said fine, I'm OK with what you're doing because I'm out of work'

I've always tried to be supportive of what the club are trying to do, but I'm increasingly struggling to get behind what seems like either incompetence, stubbornness or possibly both
This is exactly how I feel. If Rosenior is appointed, without knowing the details, it does feel like he was third or fourth choice. If we were so keen on him he could and would have been appointed 3 or 4 weeks ago. There was obviously something in the Still and Jansen rumours and it looks like we were turned down.

I've had more patience with the ownership and management than most on here and have tried to give them leeway to make some mistakes as ultimately we have been moving in the right direction. However the disastrous appointment of Beale (which everyone foresaw apart from the club) and the subsequent months of seemingly doing nothing have been a complete joke as we've lost all momentum.

This is another appointment that I really hope goes well but feel it highlights the narrative coming from KLD and Speakman is largely bullshit.

Just having his brekky with Bob then he's off to the SOL to sign mate.
Strange just got off the phone with our leader he knows nothing about Rosenior.
Which now tells us tis you who just makes things up and tells lies.
Well, well,well.

The problem is, we might as well fast forward to December/January time when he will be inevitably sacked and the process starts all over again, probably with Dodds taking charge until the summer and this time next year going down the exact same road where it takes 4 months to appoint someone like John Eustace after being knocked back by 7 other targets.

A complete waste of everyone's time.

I'll await the abuse from the "back the club no matter how many times they make a fool of me, this time will be different " brigade.

So who should we appoint then ?. I don’t know much about Rosenior to be honest but I do know he has a solid playing career behind him in the UK and experience of managing in the Championship.

I don’t care if he’s the 50th choice long as he does a good job here eg winning matches

Our leader ffs lol that must mean he’s due to sign later or this week

Whats your point?
People trying to big up how good their football style was yet they were worse to watch than Sunderland. Side to side, back a bit, forward a bit, all behind the halfway line.
The owner asked him to liven it up a bit with the players brought in.
Rosenior said no and got the heave-ho as a consequence.
I still doubt he'll sign.

OK... I agree they were uninspiring and dull in the two games I saw them - I thought you were suggesting he hadn't improved their touches in the final third, which he may have done without providing exciting attacking football.

We're all on edge :p

This is the clubs career progression plan for Dodds.

When the inevitable happens and Dodds takes "temporary charge" they will hope he wins a few games and offer him a 5 year contract as full time manager

Dodds has taken charge of 18 games in his 3 spells lost & won 4 11 I’ll say no more

Liverpool, a fairly big, successful club accepted second choice, after Alonso remained loyal.
Bayern Munich , a fairly big club, accepted Kompany who was about eighth choice but plays in a style they desire.
Even the black & whites took Howe after several rejections - one of which was Emery.
After missing out on the laptop coaches I would have thought an individual who has been at the coalface, got muck under his fingernails, and neither he,nor his father, have had an easy time of it,would be welcomed.
Too easy to judge coaches, in a short time period, without knowing what goes on in the background.
Fairly big club Manchester United haven't yet decided how far down their list they will go.

If he has a smooth start I reckon he'll become an extremely popular coach.
