Liam Rosenior

Hopefully those above him finally get the transfers right and he has enough about him to keep us clear of relegation next season.

Would'nt have been my choice but if he can keep us midtable, which should be achieveable, he would be doing a decent job.

900 seasons managed at this level and one promotion. Not that impressive is it?

No not at all which is why I was never fussed about him and have never said it was impressive. But his first job in English football (bar a 4 game interim role) saw him win the championship after he had guided Hibs to europe twice in 2 years for first time in about 20 years.

It’s a better record than Rosenior though whatever way you look at it.

Lampard done a really good job at Derby with a young side. I don't think Chelsea or Everton are great clubs to judge a manager

How is he an arsehole? Have I missed something?
Post 839 is why I think he is an asshole. Entirely opinion.

I think the squad he had at Derby was pretty good, and had a nice mix of experience and young loan players. Malone, Keogh, Wisdom, Ashley Cole, Bradley Johnston, Bryson, Ledley, Lawrence, Benett, Marriott, Waghorn, and Nugent offered abundant experience. The young loans of Harry Wilson, Tomori, and Mason Mount were quality at this level. Andy King wasn't too shabby either.

Playoffs are exactly where you would expect that squad to be with the quality in the league at the time.

Does Rosenior have a much worse record than him? He's only managed 1 full season. Just on a basic level Mowbray finished 6th on 69 points in 2023, Rosenior finished 7th on 70 points in 2024.

I'm unsure about Rosenior as well, but his record itself is not bad.
But not an improvement or aligned to an obsession with progression?

People were saying Rosenior had spent fortunes but although wages may have been higher the transfer outlay was less than SAFC.

Doesn't equate to them spending fortunes and our owner penny pinching though. Even with wages, they won't have spend fortunes more than us will they?

Did I say we were penny pinching? Problem we had was it was more important to sign players for a promotion push in 5 years opposed to this season and we ultimately sacked the season off in Feb.

It was shit or bust for Hull.

Well if they managed in 2 entirely different leagues it's hard to make a reasonable comparison surely?!?!!

Article from Phil Smith. Makes it sound like it was the clubs decision not to appoint Jansen and they are making their final choice this weeks. Sounds like Rosenior and the guy from QPR in the mix but my gut feeling is I wouldn’t rule out a surprise name getting it

Sounds like he’s guessing as much as any of us.

I think if it is Rosenior, it's probably the best we can do from the position we've now put ourselves in. You would think he has enough about him to keep us away from any relegation trouble - which at this point in time i'd probably accept. And that's terrible to say given where we were this time last summer

If we take this long to appoint someone and still go for someone with little to no experience , id be ever more worried about the coming season

his first game in charge as soon as opposition score the knives will be out for him
If he is not allowed to bring his own staff and is not given a say on transfers/squad selection then yes I think you are correct
If these are provided then I'm sure the vast majority of fans will be patient.

You will always get a handful that like to complain about everything you just have to hope they don't sit next to you and their social media access is broken

If Rohl/Cifuentes finish 7th next year what will people say about the jobs they’ve done at their clubs. But Rosenior, nah shite!

If it's down to Cifuentes or Rosenior I'd go for Cifuentes. Bit of aggression in him.

You really think this club will pay compo for a head coach when there's one available for nowt?

Might aswell just get the scarf pick done today and unviel Rosenior. Unbelievable that they're still pissing about.
