Liam Rosenior

Oh and when Neil left he left with 2 very good strikers at his disposal. Amad, Roberts, Clarke , Pritchard, Michut, etc etc to pick from.
A very good championship squad
Amad and Michut hadn’t signed when he left but I’m sure he’ll have been aware of our interest. Neil wanted more experienced signings, which is understandable.

Oh aye, good point. He'd have had them though .
He left for more money, which is his prerogative, let's not pretend it was for anything else.

I don't think there's been a genuine link to Rosenior, just seemed to me more like Fishpaste wanted to look more ITK than Copley so dropped his name in as an easy link then covered his arse by saying how there's so much agent talk at the minute blah blah

Both Neil and Mowbray were happy to sign up to be 'yes' men. Happy to take the job and money.

Again let's not forget the poor form, football and tactics towards the end of Mowbrays spell. It always seems to be conveniently overlooked
Mowbray getting sacked wasn't a huge surprise to me personally. We were 1 down at Millwall and I actually posted something on Facebook saying something like this is his last game here. What went wrong after that, is not using it as an opportunity to actually improve and kick on. They appointed Beale and we know the rest. They deserve criticism for that and I don't think anyone would say otherwise. Some of the rest though is just pure speculation and fabrication that been made into fact.

Whilst he isn't always right I think Fishpaste gets a bit of a raw (sushipaste lol) deal tbh

Surely, any prospective HC wanting to come to the club, would prefer to work with his own staff - people he's previously worked with, and people who's ideas he's happy to listen to & perhaps implement, and who's advice & judgement he trusts, rather than having someone already at the club, foisted upon him to work alongside him.

I wondered that myself

There were plenty of stories from Birmingham that he’d turned them down because of interest from the championship. Can only really see it being us

I absolutely won’t be alone on here feeling I’m posting the same shit constantly .

THE MODEL ISNT WORKING IN ITS CURRENT GUISE.

See, the model I agree with (signing young players to develop to grow with the club or make a tidy profit on) because if proven to work then it makes us an attractive option for players looking to develop themselves. So in that, I agree with when it’s done correctly which looked like we did under Mowbray.

But it’s the constant lies that we are being constantly fed, that every single decision the club makes is made with great detail in terms of using data to do it, like yes Mowbray worked but they said the systems they used to sound out the best best option it ruled that out of 10’s of thousands of managers that the very best option was Tony Mowbray, sorry but I’m not having that like.

We won’t even go into detail about the off the pitch stuff (black cats bar etc.) it just stinks, Juan Satori what’s he still hanging around for?

I live in hope that this next appointment is a success but I’ve genuinely just stopped caring, it’s a shame because I’ve been desperate to get my four year old along to his very first game and have been excited to do since his birth, cancer treatment & everything Inbetween, it literally got me through some very dark days the thought of being able to have that moment and even at this stage that just feels like a chore.

I don't think you've stopped caring at all. In fact this post tells me you haven't

Not to be pedantic, but I think LJ was prior to KLD. I know still turned us down, but we were pushing hard for him, so surely that dispels thy myth that we would only hire a yes man.

I see the points you're trying to make btw mate, but just find the term yes man, a bit lazy and just a way to bash the club.

Mowbray had run his course and ran out of ideas. He was fantastic, but we were going backwards under him by the end.
Tbf mate there is plenty to bash the club with, yes man is about 15th on the list ;)

Think there’s a difference In caring and being obsessed really, the fact most of us spend our days talking about the club on here and social media is an obsession.

At the minute of course I care about Sunderland because the club is what runs through my veins and will always be that, but the club in its current guise and those that are the current custodians of it will never truly get that.

So our identity is attacking, successful sides who are also sound defensively. Who'd have thought it?
Indeed, and most of the past 60 years has seen us playing like that !!
I recognise your cynicism, and I know hindsight always wears rose-coloured specs, but it's called aspiration.
I have no love for possession based, backpassing football. It's boring. Inverted wingers who never swap sides to have a go at the by-line are easy to set up against. Not having a striker is criminal. Constantly conceding breakaway goals is stupid. Set pieces are crucial and have to be organised in defence and creative in attack.
I just want a head coach who addresses these issues. It might be quite entertaining.

Hamstrung before they start mate, need to work with Dodds and Proctor, need to work within The Model, say nothing to the press that is critical of recruitment or the squad.
