Liam Rosenior

Genuinely what's rosenior done other than fail
Most people were pretty happy with Mowbray but you could make the same accusation against him.

Rosenoir is well regarded as one of the best young coaches at this level, and he did well with Hull. Most Hull fans think they were mad to sack him. He took them from a relegation threatened team to a playoff chasing one all while their owner was signing all manner of Turkish league rejects.

We could do a lot worse than Rosenoir. I'm not sure where this hate for him comes from tbh.

He's a better fit for me. He did well at Hull from where he started (despite the over simplistic shite about him failing). He's young, speaks well, knows the league, is a good tactician who can set up a team well and has managed 2 decent sized clubs so will have some understanding of the pressure that comes with managing a big club. Being English and having managed in this league and in the North will leave him with no issues adapting either.

There's a lot more unknowns with Jansen. I get why people are excited about a potential upside, but AZ obviously didn't think he would take them to the next level and Ajax and Feyenoord haven't gambled on him either so his stock is falling a little.

Is that true ? Why does nobody want to give him a job ? We're not even falling over ourselves to get him, he's only a back-up, or rather a back-ups back up.

Rosenior is a better choice than Jansen.
Give owa man 🤣🤣🤣

Rosenior is regarded like that by who exactly? Certainly not by the Hull fans, or me. I work with 2 Hull mad lads and they thought his football was rank.

I don't get why Rosenior is classed as a failure for not getting a play off spot.

Play off spot is pretty hard to get especially in a year where you've had three very strong teams come down in Leicester, Leeds and Southampton - all with big budgets and kept a load of Premier League players.

Ipswich done way better than expected.

After that you had a toss up for 4 places between Norwich, West Brom, Boro and Coventry with a few others falling out the race.

There's no reason that Hull should have been a definite to finish top 6 from that group imo.

With the squad they had they should have been comfortably top 6. That, coupled with the fact that they played the type of football that made Doddsball look attractive, speaks volumes.

He also wasn’t sacked by Hull due to their league position, he got the bullet because he didn’t play the style of football the owner wanted. I can’t get enthusiastic about him but I don’t think he’s as bad as people are making out.

Apart from Carvalho and Twine is their squad actually any good?

I think we'd look at Rosenior as a known quantity - failed to make the play-offs with Hull so why would achieve the play-offs with us - whereas all the others are unknown quantities at this level, a sort of better the devil you don't know.

I don't think they have a great squad tbh. It's decent enough but I would just expect them to be in the mix with everyone else. I certainly wouldn't have predicted them finish top top 6 at the start of the season.

Yeah there football is shite and i fully understand that being a factor but ai don't think he did a bad job in terms of results

We massively underperformed last year, so can't really compare them to us. They had a better squad than West Brom and Norwich and actually had a proper striker, in Delap.

Their football was absolutely turgid stuff.

No-one had them down as top 6 certainties until he was sacked and history was re-written. The bookies had them down as 16th favourites for promotion at the start of the season.

They were probably a top 10 squad, but people go on about their players as if the other squads in this league weren't good. They had Philogene - so what? We had Clarke, Leeds has Summerville, Norwich had Rowe, even bloody Plymouth had Whittaker.

Twine and Delap were names but nothing special.

Carvalho fair enough. Greaves is another. But they don't have a lot of standout players beyond that.

Does he play the type of football you'd happily see us play at the SOL?
