Posted this elsewhere but it would prove beyond all reasonable doubt that the powers that be haven't got a clue or a plan in place at all, if Will Still is Plan A and then Rosenior is Plan B.
The two are nowhere near alike in terms of playstyle or tactical preference. Rosenior is massively overrated. Hull invested decent money and provided him with a strong squad. They rightfully would have been expecting to get into the playoffs with that investment.
Seri, Philogene, Carvalho (for 6 months), Omur, Greaves, Tufan, Morton, Zaroury, Giles are all good to excellent players at this level and all commanded decent fees and/or wages.
Their wage bill will be one of the highest in the league for the season just gone when you remove the parachute payment clubs who are operating in a different stratosphere, and they only won 3 of their last 13 games despite the above to blow a playoff place. Many of their fans, included those who get on here, were unhappy with him and not at all sorry to see him go, which speaks volumes.
Rosenior would defeat all logic of what this current setup is supposed to be, whereby the manager is selected to be aligned with the squad and tactical/playstyle preference of the club, but then again the same thing happened last time around when they pulled Beale out of their arse.
Past experience shows us that it's very difficult to have any faith in the decision-makers when it comes to managerial appointments.
They lucked into Alex Neil after pissing about for weeks and wanting Roy Keane, who was offered and subsequently turned down the role before Neil was even thought about.
They sacked Mowbray without any real idea of what they were going to do in terms of replacement, pissed about and ended up with Michael Beale who everyone knew would be a disaster from day one.
Mowbray certainly worked out but if we are honest, he was only appointed because he was the most dialled contact in our Head of Recruitment's phone and available at a moment's notice as opposed to it being some sort of genius.
If they go for someone like Rosenior it's just more of the same nonsense really, whereby they'll have pissed around for months and ended up with Plan F, not B.
