The Athletic: Brentford want Jobe

Not a fan. Just don’t think he has the quick feet and speed of thought to play where we play him. He can be slow and ponderous in possession. Him and Ekwah in advanced positions are a huge reason why we’ve seen a shift in playing style. Dan Neil who for me is better than both isn’t being used correctly. I d like to see him playing as a 6 if he stays, but suspect that doesn’t fit in with project Bellingham.

But he's shit ain't he 😂 it's like when people were saying Henderson wasn't good enough when he left for Liverpool.

The lad is going to do more in the game than Dan Neil and I rate DN highly, another player who a large proportion of our fan base slagged off while he was developing in L1 and Championship.
That second paragraph is bang on. Just forgotten about and moved on to the next target tho.

Won’t lie regardless of the “model” I think losing players too the likes of palace and Brentford as they are so far ahead of us isn’t going to sit well with a lot of fans. It’s ok losing players to bigger clubs and clubs abroad but when it’s clubs that have historically won nowt done nowt and have hot probably their limit of growth is a bit of a kicker and I’m not one of those were giiiiit massssssssive is man it’s still a tough pill to swallow.
Been happening for years though. Marco, Toddo, Phillipsyo, Chapmanyo, Nick Pickio, etc.

Read the article.
The words thought to be in talks differs from the headline.
The article doesn't say thought to be in talks, it says: “... thought to be one of Oliver Glasner's leading transfer targets this summer.” and before that: “Crystal Palace are in talks with Sunderland over a deal to sign Jobe Bellingham.”

May as well pack up if he's sold.

I fully expect him to kick on next season, bit older stronger and wiser. If we sell him for relative buttons now, then the model is a sham. Of course, if he wants to go, then that is a different decision to make.

He was only ever brought in to be sold the whole model we have is based on buying players and selling them for a profit. The last two january windows seasons have shown that promotion isnt main priority for the owner.

You seriously think he may not get better?! He started the season as a 17 year old in the Championship man! He will develop.

You think palaces recruitment team that brought in Eze and Olise are buying him for the name?

Do you think it's a given that young players just improve? It seems to be the way of thinking on here but it's just not the case mostly.

I'm not sure at the moment where he fits in. He hasnt got the pace and strength yet to consistently drag a team forward. He hasnt got the cleverness to play in an advanced midfield role. He's got bits, but it's not as obvious yet (for me) as someone like Chris Rigg who is younger and less physically advanced, but a miles better footballer. Jobe would have to undergo the sort of transformation not seen since Gareth Bale (who was infinitely more talented anyway) did around 2009 to become a 'top' player.

Palace's recruitment team. What on earth are you blithering on about? have they made no mistakes? Do you think just because someone is linked to him that they cannot possibly get it wrong or that it's dead certain? I've also not said he won't improve - I'm just not seeing the hype yet, he's miles off.
All fair. But 17. He’s not 23

But he played 45 games....

Other than the CF position which he’s had to fill through no fault of his own, there’s players already at the club who have been sacrificed to get minutes into Bellingham in an advanced position. Honestly don’t care if he goes.

This for me. Out of all the players being linked elsewhere he's the one I believe will impact our team the least and give the finances a decent boost. I don't ever believe he will reach the heights some do, so a large profit and then each of us move on would do for me.

It’s not like palace haven’t signed some absolute dog shit like ya fucker they were ready for the drop until the new manager turned it round 😂

I agree regarding Kobe. I just don’t get it like.

I must have asked 50 times on here, what is he good at and nobody ever replies and the ones that do just point out his age.

I don’t see anything special at the minute at all like

Great position to be in with at least 2 big bidders in for him.
He will never be like his brother. At 18 year old he isn't quick enough by a long way, and with age, he won't get any quicker surely, imo anyway.
