CC : Hampshire v Durham

Suppose it’s a combination of coming up against better attacks and draws being worth more points this year, but am missing the more swashbuckling attitude from last season. We’ve seemed to be actively playing for the draw since nice our innings began; feels like there’d have been much more urgency and a lot less fear last year.

Doesn't help when you have an England capped leg spinner who doesn't back himself to bowl and a main spinner whose strategy is the same delivery 200 times.

The difference in the standard of cricket between the two divisions appears a lot bigger than what i thought it would be even though i thought some if the counties in division 2 ladt season where very poor. Perhaps being competitive and tough to beat is where we are this season.

Are you talking about Borthwick!! What did he get, 3 wickets - 2 from long hops and 1 from a full toss. No, I'm suprised Scotty isn't bowling but, after he's pout in a lot of effort, he's not good enough. Sadly.

What's inaccurate about it?

He was picked for England off the back of 28 wickets in the championship season. He's let his bowling slide since then, but is still capable of providing a bit of variety as per his five wickets last season. He was the stand-out bowler of the RLC a few seasons ago. He's not good enough to play on his batting (averaging c.20 on tame wickets), and his captaincy is meh.

He was picked for england off the back of being in Australia at the time, you know that as well as he does.

Im surprised Ackerman didn't get more of a bowl, im not surprised borthwick isnt bowling himself. I would be surprised if you actually are surprised.

Wouldn't have got picked if they didn't think he was good enough. He'd been talked about in relation to an England call-up since 2011.

I'm surprised you think an occasional off-spinner with 86 wickets is a better wicket taking option than a leggy with 229.
