I mean, they’ll have seven or eight weeks off after today.

Standards should have been set from the top. They clearly aren’t currently being set.

What was it Speakman came out with, ‘passion for excellence’ or something?

Can't think of a bigger regression from one season to the next in my time of being a Sunderland fan.

In terms of league position you could argue the 2nd 7th placed finish under Reid to only just staying up in 2001/02 but in hindsight there had been plenty of signs in the 2nd half of 2000/01 that Reid and his approach had been found out, whereas in the space of the last 12 months we've gone from being a somewhat inconsistent really exciting, high-pressing, attack-minded side with seemingly loads of really talented young footballers that didn't know when they were beaten to serving up this insipid dross and a side with absolutely no fight or bravery about them whatsoever.

He could be a very serious footballer if he worked hard on improving it. He’s getting worse if anything.
 
That was pretty awful. We're playing very narrow. At the same time, they are murdering us down our left. No one has played well, but Aouchiche has been particularly poor.
