Forthcoming gigs.

Just in from the 40th anniversary of The Pogues Red Roses For Me gig at Hackney Empire led by Spider Stacy, with Jem Finer and James Fearnley also playing. Was fantastic and so pleased I didn't miss it. James Wallbourne played guitar throughout and Fontaines DC drummer Tom Coll drums. Various guest vocalists and musicians, joyous and frantic It was being filmed and Spider and Jem both made comments that sounded like other gigs were a possibility.

Bob Vylan were really good at the boiler shop. I too think it is one if not the best venue in Newcastle. The sound is good, there are well organised queues for the bar and the beer selection is much better than most venues. The history of the place is a bonus for us train fans.
I've kind of gone off the boilershop. Everything you say is correct it's just something about the place that just feels like a big hall everyone is standing in..just always seem to lack a decent atmosphere, can't really explain why
I duffed the Boiler Shop last year, gutted it did now. Does it work ok without a band? That’s a bit of a disappointment for me.

Bob Vylan is just two of them isn’t there?

Yes there's only the two bobs, but they really bring the energy and have a great presence. I didn't bother seeing them here in the end but we caught them at greenman and they were lively

Tom A Smith on Tuesday and The Men They Couldn't Hang on Saturday both in Manchester. Hopefully, no bus replacement service for the trains without any warning or explanantion unlike last night when I got back to Preston at 1.30 am after Jim Bob who was bloody marvellous.

'From the Jam' were excellent last night..great atmosphere in the Boiler Shop..nice to see Bruce Foxton looking well again..he looked ill last year..just booked for 'Total Stone Roses' and the 'Cult'.

Michael Head excellent tonight as always. Gets a very big sound of his acoustic guitar. Streets of Kenny probably the highlight, it’s never been anywhere near my favourite tune. It was just fine so well

I’m very much looking forward to it, but not sure if I’ll make the Sunday.
Really enjoyed Michael Head last night. Nice little venue too. First time I’ve seen the merch person pop up for a song too!

Elbow were sublime at the city hall last night, left with a warm, fuzzy feeling.
He's so good at being a front man!

Seemed an 'elderly' crowd last night, not that that's a bad thing, hardly any phones up all night and only 1 gonk in a football shirt.

Was a fab gig mate, as you said great atmosphere, thought the same about Bruce, saw him last year and he didn’t look well, Boiler Shop is nice venue 👍

Got up around 11am , within 10 mins bought 2 tickets on resale for this lad in Leeds tonight, 90 min drive, hotel booked, beers, remember, you’re a long time dead.

Solo artist for the last 10-12 years, but he was the lead singer with Hootie and the Blowfish

The Handsome Family on Thursday at the Fire Station. Saw them couple of years ago at the Sage. They were both struggling with the flu at the time but tried there best to put the effort in. Hopefully a much improved performance this time
