If it wasn’t a minow against a giant then there would have been no outrage and hot air over a correct decision.
Have you genuinely watched the goal or zoomed in on the lines?
Had it been given, the word offside would not have been mentioned once

Like I said, look at foot of the United player
At least it's consistent with drawing a line on top of the United player like the original
This might help. Thickness is done to help the viewing public and build a small margin. Thinning the lines makes it obvious.

Someone else on here made a good point actually. We don't use arms/hand when judging offsides as a goal cannot be scored from using the hand. True. For the attacking team. But an own goal can be given if it goes in off a defenders arm or hand. I think they should include arm/hand of deepest defending team player. That would likely give a little more advantage to the attacking side too. That's not the still used from the VAR team as the ball has effectively left his foot.
It's certainly clearer with the lines. I'd love to see the frame used by the officials using those fine lines.
I have to say that I never wanted VAR, I cited the fact that once you start measuring things microscopically you’re heading down the road to hell, looks like my thoughts were correct. The genie is out the bottle now , there is no going back . Most of us wanted more tech in the game and those who say they didn't probably have selective memories.
Unfortunately we are stuck with it and have to remember next time we have some great ideas that if it isn't broken , don't fix it .
Yes mate I was hoping it was going to be offside as soon as they scored as looked very tight.Have you genuinely watched the goal or zoomed in on the lines?

The Coventry fans celebrated.

Thats my biggest issue with it tbh. Massive goal at Wembley but as a fan you'd be frightened to celebrate in case it got chalked off.As I would have done. But if it was me the back of my mind would been thinking about VAR.
Don't think thats true like. Emotions take over not logic. Same as when fans celebrate goals before var to realise the linesman had his flag upThats my biggest issue with it tbh. Massive goal at Wembley but as a fan you'd be frightened to celebrate in case it got chalked off.
Refs, 2 assistants, 4th official, Var squad , all on bloody good money.
Agents not the only ones raking money in. So keep it to prem only please if , and I expect it will, be kept.
The argument is amounting to "VAR should be scrapped because the result would've made it a great giant-killing moment for the FA Cup."This might help. Thickness is done to help the viewing public and build a small margin. Thinning the lines makes it obvious.

Personally I'd not be arsed if they scrapped it. Or built in more margins. But for people to say he was onside with the rules as they are are wrong. Simple as that.

It’s the offside law that’s the main problem on this instance. As it stands the law is not fit for purpose. There was absolutely no advantage whatsoever to Wright and Coventry. When they showed it on MOTD this morning (my time) it looked like his foot was ever so slightly infront of the offside line so he was offside. Interestingly without VAR they would have been all sorts of complaints after the fact about how the Cov player was offside and the mistake by the officials has cost ManU a place in the final. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.
So I think, if the ref or linesman makes a decision, and the VAR guys watching a replay can't immediately see it was wrong, without slow-mo or by drawing computer measurements, then just let the on-field decision stand.

Yes, a nice little earner for doing a bad job. It also provides plenty of talking points for the likes of Sky and Talksport to use for days on end.
Media companies must love it for the amount of clicks, listens and views it generates.
