I get that going to the match is a big part of peoples lives and they feel a sense of loyalty and would rather sit in a half empty stadium in league one and say ‘I was there’ than make a stand that could bring about real change. I guess it’s their own perogative.

I've been going for 39 years, I've seen worse and I certainly am not renewing to say I was there...each to their own

When it gets worse for the club(really hope I’m wrong)in the future you’ll still have some of these dozy happy clappers saying ..but I’m still there and I’ll renew again next season …..of course you will because you’re thick as they come no matter how much these owners take the piss 🤷🏻‍♂️

Agree with this. I'm renewing but don't blame others for not doing so.
 
Renewing cos unfortunately I support safc, happy for anybody to not renew, it’s a free country with freedom of choice, although why you need to either tell us you’re not going to , or worse still to insult us that have decided to, is beyond my immediate comprehension, but crack on if it makes you feel better with yourself.

What people don’t release is yes it wasn’t great under SD and Methven but we were always competing at the top of league one and winning more games than not. We will be lower half championship here without investing or showing ambition.
 
I think I’ll try something different nxt season to my previous 40 seasons as a season tkt holder and become a “ parasite “ a phrase Niall Quinn used and watch on
the dodgy in pub.
Same bloke compulsory purchased my shares I paid at £5.85 @share and I received £1 .. you couldn’t write it 🤣

fair enough just get annoyed with the ridiculous posts after a defeat. It was awful today, truly awful but to throw in the towel and tell people to stop supporting their club because of it is scum behaviour. We aren’t in a great place due to some bad decisions from above but we can’t cry for new owners etc when things aren’t going great. After last week we had some young players that played very well and deserved to win. This week we throw them all under the bus? Sorry but that’s not what supporting a club is all about.

I’ve thought many many times about not renewing. Let’s face it, they drain the life out of you at times. We are, objectively, shite. We are ran abysmally. But what is the end game of not renewing? How long do we not renew for? What event makes it acceptable to come back?

We are only here for a short time. We dont follow Sunderland for the glory. We follow them for the friends you make and the people you meet. We follow them for the rare good times. We follow them for the stories we can tell. If we all stop going, SAFC ceases to be.

I’ll say it again, if you want to stop going, fair enough, I support you 100%. But anyone calling people who renew ‘part of the problem’ can get to fuck.

As long as they get season card sales they will continue to do as they please. It’s just an “ outside noise” that they will continue to disregard. They know the fans are against this model shyte but carry on regardless cos they enjoy the game they’re playing.
They’re playing a game but it’s your club that’s suffering. Put a stop to it, don’t renew.
See if that changes anything, then renew if it does.
If you renew even though you know the ownership is shyte and their model is shyte then your are part of the problem.

KLDs family/advisors won’t be allowing him to do WTF he wants with his new business venture. He will have had to submit a business plan. Which is what I believe the much posted about on here 5yr plan is. Ditto “the model” which I think is the player recruitment side of things.

I’m sure KS wadnt be buying only kids and chasing older players if it was only down to him.

I admire your loyalty I really do but I consider myself a Sunderland supporter. Albeit only causal due to work commitments. Today was one of those games me and my son would have gone to being a bank holiday but some of the decisions lately have sickened us, at the final score we just looked at each other and said…. Pleased we didn’t go today. Could never stop following them though and can’t wait until we return to a game again. But just now no desire to do so.

My take is it a big sky out there, and not my place to tell anyone what to do. We are all free to make our choice. I fully accept that people wish to vent their spleen after today as we are human. I would never question anyone for renewing, or giving up. Free will brother👍
 
We are being taken as absolute and utter mugs. The players below are with the exception of Bellingham simply not good enough. The last three transfer windows have been an utter shambles and the main reason as to why TM is not here.

“Plan” equates to cheap untried players who might prove good enough. It’s not a plan ffs, it’s a a cheap short sighted strategy that simply will not work.

The club under this Owner and KS aren’t going to take this club forward, in reality we are going backwards and are becoming a laughing stock on and off the field.

They simply haven’t got the foresight, football knowledge, or business sense to appoint the best Coach we can, it’s absolutely essential for this football club and the appointment should be made now. The argument we won’t pay for Steve Cooper is a joke, its disrespectful to 40,000 Sunderland and shows a lack of the remotest levels of ambition to its incredible level of support.A club with supporters who I believe are fast reaching breaking point.

If KLD and KS want to state that the data driven model equates to Beale and now I believe Heckingbottom as our next Head Coach and the players below then the data is a joke it really is!!

At 70yr old there’s not a lot of alternatives for me. I fully understand your point of view. That , today was completely unacceptable. I think posters who have pointed out that the club have sacked off the season with a dozen or so matches to go , have a genuine complaint. Fans are paying full price for their seats and the management and players have basically chucked the towel in.
